According to the product spec sheet that I received, this will be the last reissue and part of the mold has been reworked. It doesn't describe what parts have been reworked. Also this will come in a window box with lid.

A Masterpiece megatron will also be rereleased.

Too bad the "Final Edition" doesn't have the trailer and roller... Waiting for BBTS to put preorders up.

 

According to what I got:

"Not just a reissue of the first Masterpiece Transformer, this reissue of the original MP-01 Convoy has had the molds partially reworked. This will be the last issue of this Masterpiece Convoy, and to commemorate this Takara-Tomy is including a special soundstage. Press the switch and the voice of Tetsuaki Genta, the original animated series’ Convoy, will boom forth in all-new recordings done just for this release."

No details given, at least not in the two solicits I received so far for it. No notes on any differences or anything of that sort. March 2011 release, same as MP-1L. Looks like the same MSRP as the original, 9800 yen, which right now translates direct to around $125-130.

 

Hmm, this will fit in nicely in my collection, seeing as I sold my original MP-01!  
Oh and cant't wait to see more info on this release.  

 

Just out of curiosity, what is the generally recognised / acknowledged designation of the version released in the UK? It's in a Hasbro classics style box similar to the US DVD release, but has no DVD (nor the flash advertising a DVD), has a blue gun, short smoke stacks and lighter, flatter paint than MP-04 with no battle damage.

I generally refer to it as my 20th Anniversary Prime, however I know there was an actual 20th Anniversary Prime which came in a different box.

You know what would be funny? The reworked parts being a "cartoon accurate head" and "alternate articulated hands."  

 

A release of the mold to celebrate its retirement   The stand is interesting, not only do they get thier actuall Convoy but also the next MP. Hoping someone on here buys & translates it.

 

New parts you say, ok, I'll pay attention till we find out what they are.

 

I may actually get this. My MP-01 has a loose shoulder join and some playwear, so I may get this to keep him in box...

 

Lets see what comes after the release of Optimus in the MP line... oh thats right its another variant of the Starscream Mold... (sorry just bitter that they have milked those two molds so much instead of making something new. And yes we got Megatron and Rodimus... but how many re-releases of MP1 and MP3 or redecos of the mold?) I am going to say the next release will be a Ghost of Skywarp, then the Ghost of Thundercracker... then another Ghost of Ghost of Starscream just so we know he is dead or maybe it will be Sleep Starscream... Sigh... I think if have ranted enough... here is hoping they actually will make a new mold and not release a redeco of one already done.

 

Still don't. I miss it everytime. I was even in Japan when MP-04 was reissued and still never saw him. Picked up the Black version this year but I want a proper one.

 

I just thought - if this is the mould being retired then that puts pay to ever getting an MP Magnus with trailer. Bum!

Still, the best news here is that the next MP is already in the works. Galvatron, Shockwave or Soundwave would do me nicely. Please no oversized cars!

Alternatively raise a middle digit to iGear by releasing the MP Seekers BIGGER. 1/48 would be nice.

 

I don't have it yet. so I preordered it, as if it is the last the prices for the mold shall go up after its sold out.

If i manage to find one more affordable between then and now i shall cancel of course.

 

I bet it's the chest window panels that doesn't quite line up perfectly.

 

I don't own one (I guess I'm the only one), but I do have the Faith Leader. Either way, I agree, it's time to retire this figure.
