The UPS man was kind enough to deliver one this morning. Upon opening the box and freeing him of the twist ties and plastic, the problems became apparent. Paint chips on the corners of the cab windows, chrome wear on the gas tanks, one of the paint chips is currently between the layers of plastic in the cab window.

Then there is the biggest problem, the floppy as shit cab window. WTF? I thought that problem had been fixed? Does this have to do with 2 versions of this guy and where they are assembled(Asian ver.)? When I think E-Hobby, I think quality. What I got was not, which is a real disappointment. Other than the above, the figure is fucking awesome. Has anyone else experienced this?

Only problem with mine is one leg was much tighter than the other making it near impossible to collapse it, had to loosen it up, works pretty fine now.

Got it from BBTS with the chrome plaque. Both would be ehobby right? Does it matter which online retailer it comes from?

I asked the question in another thread and got no definitive answer, what the exact differences were in the the two and if in fact the quality would be less in the HK(Asian)ver. Would both be considered Ehobby or just the Japanenese ver.?

I actually had all of my Masterpiece Primes out last night and I must say that my Black Prime has the best fitting pieces of any of them.

MP-01 is pretty good, but doesn't align quite right.
MP-02 fits together much better and aligns almost properly.
MP-01B is tight and very secure and fits together very well.
My other Primes (MP-04, Battle-Damaged, and Anime) are all noticably floppier.

This may be b/c I got them used, but w/o a doubt, Black Prime has the best QC I have seen of any of them. Maybe I just got really lucky.

The thing that pisses me off the most is the cab window. When you try to close it, it springs back.

two things to say on the matter

    1. thank you for posting this (i wouldn't have created this account otherwise)

    2. i have MP-02 (from TFsource) and had the same problem, had my dad take a look at it and since it's a compression pin take an old-fashioned ice pick (yes you read correctly an ice pick) and work it into the hole, this will expand the pin and make the hinge tighter. it works great now

Well, your welcome...I guess:D  Very happy I decided to return this guy, after attemping to transform him, the left leg will not compress and there is signifigant chrome wear on the truck's bumper. Wtf?

Thanks for the tip too, hopefully I won't be needing it though!

    Ebay:
That sucks man, sounds like you got every QC problem that mold has ever had.

Try emailing BBTS and explain the situation. They will probably send you a replacement or at the very least send a little bit of cash back to you, they are cool like that. IMO they have the best customer service of any of the online dealers I buy from.
