Never have I handled such unfun toy(s)

I got Hasbro MP Thundercracker when it came out, and I admired the redesigns to the mold over the Walmart Starscream & Skywarp I had, and I put him on a shelf and rarely touched it again.

Then, last week, I got MP-11 Starscream. I just took him out of the box and put him on a shelf.

About a half hour ago, when I tried transforming him for the first time, his wings came off. I thought the bad old Diaclone days of part removal were over, I guess I was wrong.

Finally I got him assembled in to jet mode, and the right wing wont go fully into the correct position.

And I just ordered the Skywarp & the 3 coneheads hours before.

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Who (re)designed this pos?

I have MP Thundercracker (and MP Prowl), those are the only MPs and I was so unimpressed with them its why I won't touch MP ever again and stick with CHUG.

    Prowl/Streak/Smokescreen are GREAT!

But the only stinker of the MP line are the #11 molds.

If you hate the MP-11 mold so much... why are you continuing to buy it? I wouldn't think having a complete set of the main three and the Coneheads is worth suffering through a mold one doesn't like six times, or the financial drain of... what, $200+ a pop for the four you just ordered?

The wing comes off to keep it from breaking at the joint which was a common issue with the old design.

I agree, the mold is only marginally better than Tracks IMO.

I did not know that. But then again, I never had that problem with the Hasbro versions.

Yes, but so did the G1 originals, if you recall. I'd rather it fall off than break.

Then you're just like me. Lucky. Unfortunately, a lot of people weren't so lucky, and that's why Takara designed the "newer" MP-11s with that wing joint that would allow it to pop off if it was moved a certain way that would normally cause stress on that joint. I know it sounds rather nit picky or whatever, but with those old wing joints, you really had to be careful in how you transformed it.

Not a fan of the MP-11 mold. Pretty much every new mold since then totally outclasses it. I'd be up for a new seeker mold, but after the recent coneheads I highly doubt Takara is interested.

I get that feeling too. But on one hand, they know it'll sell....even though a lot of us who bought the shit outta that mold will be griping as we pay :lol

How is Tracks bad? He's pretty great from what I've done with him.

To a certain extent, yes it does. However, QC can vary across releases. I had an original run TT MP-11 Starscream which had awful QC, and replaced it with a TRU Starscream which I like much, much better. Nothing falls off and the figure holds together fairly well.

However, the mold is inherently limited in terms of articulation. It's an old sculpt and that can't be changed.
If you're not a big seeker fan, then skip them. I had all the MP seekers (season 1 seekers plus the coneheads) but I realised I wasn't buying them because I genuinely enjoyed the mold or liked the characters, I was just buying them because of completionism. I definitely won't be buying any of the rainmakers or welcoming committee, that is for sure.

The only other choice for licensed seeker MPs is the largely inferior MP-03 mold.

Speaking for myself, I disliked the gappy upper torso and weird floaty ankles. I have since sold that figure, life is too short to hold onto toys that you dislike.

yeah no i fuckin hated this version of the mold. mp03 version was way better except for the hip kibble, but at least the hip kibble helped it form a complete jet instead of mp11's half-missing alt mode. plus the robot mode just has much nicer curves and angles.

the mold in general is annoying as shit to transform though, i will concede that.

for me the torso transformation is sloppy and unfinished feeling. It does not feel like masterpiece engineering and seems more like an early prototype that needed more refinement. Obviously I take no issue with your satisfaction with the figure, it just wasn't for me.
