I own the Asia release from a couple years back and the torso does not lock in place like it does with my MP Skywarp and Thundercracker. I am thinking of double dipping for this with the hope that this release will be made well like SW & TC. I don't know if it justifies paying the money for another one. Is anyone else having the same dilemma?
I wonder that myself and researched it by watching YouTube videos but none of the reviews that I saw mentioned anything about it.
The torso doesn't lock in place on any version of the MP-11 mold. The screws are just too loose on some or too tight on others. If yours is loose, gently tighten the screws slightly. Or, just pick up your MP-11 figures from the waist. Its not a design flaw or a QA issue, its user error.
MP Seeker molds are an unusual problem, IMO. Amazing, amazing mold and also extremely tired after 10 years. I own 4 copies, two of which are the first version and two of which are the MP-11 update. They're all wonderful pieces but having a representation of Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercheeks in my collection...I'm good. No more MP Seekers for me unless they totally revamp the mold again...at which point I MIGHT take another look. I don't know about tightening those screws or blaming the user (I'll take his word for it) but Ben's right. The latest (TRU, 2015) Hasbro release of the MP-11 Starscream doesn't lock into place better than any other version.
Well.. since I only have the first mould MP takara Skywarp, hasbro acidstorm and Sunstorm, and Ramjet and Thrust.. I'm looking forward to the reissue.. my first starscream since i was 6! Guess I'll be finding this out soon really - i wouldnt think theyve sorted the issue out as its present on the newer coneheads, but not on the rainmakers. I wouldnt double dip if I were you - certainly check reviews and ask others who get the new version before ordering if it bothers you thst much
My TRU copy does lock in place, but you have to push a little harder to get that effect. I used to have a YM copy of Skywarp, and the torso locking tab was longer.
