I think we're going to see a USA release of MP-10. I believe it's going to be a somewhat modified version and it's going to be released as "30th Anniversary Optimus Prime".

We saw a battle-damaged version of MP-01 in the USA as 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime.

We saw a redecoed version of of MP-01 as 20th Anniversary DVD Optimus Prime.

We also saw the G1 reissue pack released as 25th Anniversary Optimus Prime.

What better way to release MP-10 in the USA than as 30th Anniversary Prime?

What do you think? Will we see MP-10 in the USA? When, how, where will it me released in your opinion?

I would prefer it done on the 25 anniversary of the movie.
    Which is this year.
    Oh yes.

    Quite possible.

Although it might be cutting it a little close because unless I'm mistaken, MP-10 isn't due out in Japan until later this year isn't it?

A possible USA release might not be out until a little while after the Japanese release.

Now that I think of it, the 30th anniversary might me a little too far away for a possible USA release of this figure.

    It's still 2 1/2 or 3 years away in 2014.

30th anniversary may be too far away, but I was more-or-less assuming that was Hasbro's intent shortly after the "Next MP is a new version of Convoy" news started coming out.

Still, there doesn't even need to be an event really... we've seen every MP mold so far, stateside. save Megatron. not including repaints.
    Prime - check
    Starscream - Check
    Rodimus - Check
    Grimlock - check
Megatron - not check, but probably the only reason we didnt is because he's a gun. And I'm betting he fails the drop test as well.
There shouldnt be any good reason why we dont see Prime. Theres shouldn't have to be no anniversary for him either.

That's 2 years away, a bit too far. I'd prefer one next year? So maybe we get 1 Masterpiece toy per year?

Yeah...I agree. The 30th anniversary is too far away for the first USA release of this figure. We'll probably see it within the next year.

However, MP-01 saw two USA releases. The Battle damaged version and the DVD version.

I think we'll see something similar when the 30th anniversary rolls around. I'll bet that it'll be a redeco of MP-10 ala DVD Prime.

I'm thinking we'll get another release for the 30th Anniversary... that time it'll be with the trailer.

They could always say that the toy is celebrating the eventual Blu-Ray release of the original film. Or tie it in to some deluxe box set release of the Bay trilogy. If they need some sort of event to celebrate with a U.S. release, I'll take whatever they can pull out of a hat!

I base this on nothing, but I think next year is possible depending on how well Rodimus and Unicron do. I think Unicron looks fantastic, but since he is a toy that so many fans kind of have in some form, I'm rooting extra hard for his success. A huge shelf-hogging box with a trailer may be a little less intimidating for Amazon than TRU. I imagine anything that can be called a toy has to pass certain tests, but it would be really cool if my imaginary online-only scenario would allow him to be marketed as more of a collectible without any safety alterations.

There doesn't need to be any event for Hasbro to port the MP-10 figure here. After all, we're halfway into 2011 and MP Rodimus still hasn't been released in the US.

It's gonna happen. Like others have said, no lame "event" necessary. Just give it to us. then make some minor mods and give it to us again a year later.

It's Optimus, of course they will do it. I'd expect it sometime next year.

30th Anniversary? Would they really wait that long? I doubt it.

In 2012, they release Optimus minus trailer for $60 as a store exclusive

In 2014, they release him PLUS trailer as 30th Anniversary special

    Just you watch...

    :p
