King Grimlock comes packaged in a nice comic-style box. Very diffrent then the normal style masterpiece box. And i looks great!

His robot mode is just great! And it looks cool too. He can have his weapons in both hands and the crown really makes him "king"

Dinobot looks just like his robot mode great. And its looks nice on display. I think i prefer him in this mode. its something diffrent then a robot or car.

Now i will let the pictures talk :)

Cool review, I am glad I never picked him up though, I can see why some like him but he really does nothing for me, I am happy with the original release.

never understood the color scheme on him. Marvel (and other comics) typically only colored dark blue on parts that would naturally be black in real life (look at superman's blue hair for example) this was an odd trend of 80s comics, but kind of dumb they made such a mistake on this figure.

I like the silver, very tasty. The rest I don't care for, but that's an awesome photo shoot!

I totally agree it was a dumb move on the figure, though I suppose they just wanted to be "comic accurate."

The blue for black always bugged me. I suppose the artist felt if they used all black the image would be hard to read. Now they use those really good greyish but rich purples (at least in the Batman comics I read) that just make the blacks jump off the page.

Of course, then you have Mike Mignola, who is just crazy with his blanks and it is fantastic!

Awesome if it was so damn much I would get this instead of Hasbro's to keep in Dino mode.

the silver paint job is great, wish the U.S. release also used that. Dont much care for the blue limbs on bot mode
or blue silver in dino mode.

How much did you pay for this one (if you don't mind saying)? Since it retails for much more than the original I was curious. It's a really nice figure and the deco makes the dino mode stand out. But for me the comic book blue doesn't contrast as well as black in robot mode.

The metallic blue bits in place of the shiny chrome is ummm, interesting.

The rest of Grim is so shiny it blinds the humans eye. WOW!

still it's okay for what it is, but I'll stick with the cheaper TRU Exclusive coming out :)

    ...You goddamn lucky sonova...

Who says it's a mistake? With the blue it IS accurate to the Marvel comics. If they had made it black it would have looked better, but then it wouldn't have been a Marvel-themed repaint anymore.

They're not the only ones who do this, though. For example Hasbro made several comic-accurate Star Wars figures, like this Darth Vader:

IIRC, they had limited colors to work with in the eighties, and it was especially hard to make black look good. Using blue as a substitute or to highlight it was a popular technique.
