Ok! It's time for MAsTerPiece GRIMLOCK! I know...I'm biased to this particular MP due to the annoyingly cute bowtie and apron string! Really love what Takara has done for him. Well, enjoy the pics!

Excellent paintjob, Sabrina! I loved what F_R did with his, but your customs always win me over with the sweet candy coated paintjobs. Keep up the great work!

Oh yes this has to be the best looking mp grimlock weve seen so far. I love the detailing with the airbrush, and the colors look fantastic and very realistic.

If only Takara had made him like this then he might actually be worth getting.

BTW what did you use for the background?

Is there any danger of paint-chipping or anything when transformed?

Nice! Like you asked, I am going to comment the same thing I did the other day to you though, I don't see much difference from the original figure to what you've improved. I can see some of the red on the leg and tail, and the shiny detail look great, but I've having trouble with a glossy Grimock. It seems the gray is almost the same hue/shade of gray as the unpainted version, and some of the colors chosen for him don't suit the mold like the gold rivets on the hip, or the red circles on the tail) I think there's a sea of possibilities on this figure, there's detail all over him, and I just am not seeing much highlight on lots of that detail.

Wow! Thanks. Well, thank you guys! I'm really happy that you appreciate him! I guess apart from my Movie Prime and Alternity Prime, Grimmy here is my new favourite.

That's just gloss white paper. Bought it from some art shop in SIngapore. I used to use black but gave up on it as I dun have a proper light tent set up yet. The black gloss aggravated the light reflection. Just using 2 lamps to the left and right while taking pics without flash.

    Thanks!

For this custom, I can proudly say that there's is close to zero paint chips if transformed properly. Not so much of what I did to it but it just is an amazing mold to paint :)  The only problem that I had was at the hip area? That metallic red at the hip would chip slightly as the legs would rub at each other when transforming. But I think it's more of a 1 time minor chip that will not worsen when transformed subsequently.

Hey! Thanks FR for taking time to type all that. And you're absolutely right. When I started painting it, i was torn between a grey or silver Grimmy. In the end, I opted to test a shade of grey that seemed silver. SOmething like in between? A colour that most people will have difficulty in deciding if it's silver or grey. SOmehow that colour turned out to be close to the original unpainted scheme. So..hahaah!

I can't say much about my detailings though as I just painted it to suit my tastes. Maybe pretty subjective? Hehee! But thanks anyway!!

Hahaha. That's exactly why I really love him so!

G2? I had a request for that a couple of days back but I kinda passed it on. Not sure how turquoise and gold will look together! Yikes!

LoLz! You really should. I actually left grimlock on my rack next to me bed as a spectacle holder! I put my glasses on his neck. Of course, that was before he was painted. He's currently retired back to his box. hehehe!

His mouth even holds odd stuff like my paint brush or tweezers when I was feeling bored.

Lol. Why no love for the G2 Dinobot color schemes? They weren't terrible like G2 Bruticus.

G2 to me, is like the Mardi Gras or Telletuby color series for G1 Transformers.
