Despite the hate, I'm still fond of my MP-05. But the one thing that does bug me is the size of the arm cannon. It's huge!

Have any third parties released smaller, more to scale alternatives?

if you have a G1 or re-release Megatron. His looks pretty decent size wise actually.

I've been thinking about doing this as well, but how do you stick it on there without modding the figure?

I had the same issue and after Tigerblade tipped me the tip, I knocked up a G1 cannon and he looks infinitely better with it than the actual MP05 cannon :

You've probably already got a good idea but not believe it, I didn't at first.....Blu tack!

The arm cannon just slides off.

Why not just use the same mount point?

The original G1 cannon doesn't fit on the mount, it's much too small.

Cheers! And that's not the best photo I took!

It's not actually a full G1 cannon as I had to find a replacement for the lost barrell, but it just looks so much better and helps the balance and poise of him no end.

Problem is, if you've not got a spare cannon or dont have most of the bits knocking about they seemed to be like rocking horse poop on eBay and when they do are pretty expensive for what they are.

You don't even need blu tack... You'll need to gently widen the G1 attachment a bit as you do this, but trust me it will slide onto the side of MP Megs arm port thingy and stay there with no modding or glue/blue tack.

I did the G1 cannon swap a long time ago, and he does look much better :thumbs2:

I also added a bit of extra black around the hip area to minimise the skinny crotch.

    EPIC pose!

Top idea with the G1 cannon mod, but I don't think my OCD would let me leave it "side on" as it were. I coloured the blu-tack black and you can't even notice its there unless right up close and even then it's not really obvious I don't think. Plus it comes off and cleans up no problems.

The extra colour on the legs too looks really good, but dunno if I could bring myself to do it!

I may have to start searching ebay more often for a loose g1 cannon since I don't have one from an original or re-release. I think it looks great and will allow for much better posses.

Was thinking the same - there don't appear to be any on eBay at the mo :-(
