Warning to all Australia residents importing MP-05 Megatron from overseas.

I have it on very very good authority form a very reliable source that the Federal Police and Customs are NOT letting the item in to the country!!!

Apparently the laws have been changed VERY recently in terms of gun laws and this item is now classified as a REPLICA gun, thus the only people who can import it is people with a permit to import guns into the country.

If you have already ordered and is on the way and yours is cought then you will receive a letter of seizure in the post asking if u want to send it back or forfeit the goods.

I tell you all this so that you don't waste your money on trying.

Plus, they are NOT even allowing an orange modification to it like America.

For those who have ordered in Australia from such places as TransfigureToys.com, their shipments should be being seized when they come in I am told. (Edit: please not this is in no way ment to defame the company and if you guys at TransfigureToys do recieve them then please let me know so i can stand corrected and also purchase one from you :D  )

If by some miracle you already have one in Australia or are lucky enough to get one from a place you ordered in the next few days that has already slipped by then, though I would love to know, DO NOT tell anyone!

I know this must sound like bull but you can try it if you like, just don't say I didn't warn you.

Please Front Page this now and spread it amongst all the TF forums on the internet as I am only a member here.

Also, please don't ask me how I know because I cannot disclose that information.

It sounds like a sad day for Australia Transformer Fans - or vhappy for the few (if any) that get theirs through.

So what's gonna happen to all those cheap gun toys in 2 dollar shops (they have orange caps)? The autority is going to take them away as well? I am sure it'll make news on TV...
What am I typing, I am in a state of shock...

    Man, its really stupid.

I told my source that they are still selling the Reissue Megatron in Australia atm and my source said that for some reason they are still allowing that and all others to be imported because they don't look as real or some shit but our Masterpiece is a No No - basicly its the Feds being a pain.

I wonder, Have they been specifically told to target a Robot with the likeness of Mp Megatron? I'm wondering if it even has enough metal in it to set off a detector.

Maybe it's a factor of it's weight combined with the 'brushed' steel finish all over the body of the toy.

The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if Hasbro Australia have informed them about the toy.

I believe it was South (ie: NSW, ACT, VIC) - can't say exactly where sorry also though considering its the Federal police it would make sense that it was down that way

That would make sense, IIRC, in at least one of those territories you need a license to even own a sword.

You are making sense as usual. I wouldn't put that past Hasbro Aus, either. We need a scapegoat :mad

Honestly my thought is the scope, that thing is HUGE and when going through an xray machine it would set off alarm bells and then, though the guy isn't packaged in gun mode, the picture on the front is enough to show what it is.

Edit: Hasbro Australia - sounds plausible to me (since we need that scapegoat :p  )

My guess would be it's something to do with it being considered more 'high profile' than the $2 toy guns available there. What makes it high profile, and who blew the proverbial whistle, i don't know.

    We could blame Fun Publications.

Australia does have very tight weapon laws. And crazy quarantine laws and totally tight border control laws. Something about being an island I guess.
