Here's my question: why is everyone so hung up that if Meg's is a tank, that he has to be an *Abrams*? Is this just because of that fan rendering which used an Abrams as the model?

I'd personally prefer a tank that was closer in scale to Prime's alt mode, so that when each one transforms to bot mode, Meg's isn't 10 or more feet taller than Prime is. That's why I would be more than fine with just a fictional tank - just like how Prime's truck mode isn't scale based on a real life model, merely influenced.

I have no idea what MP Megs will turn into nor do I care, to me it doesn't matter if it's a gun, tank, jet, artillery piece or one of those funky pile-o'fruit-hats.

All I want from my toys is quality builds, interesting transformationsgimmicks and good paint jobs.
Nostalgia toys however have the added nessacity of needing to look like what it is supposed to be a re-envisoning of.

 

Forget Megatron..... what does this scale chart mean for poor Blitzwing?!?!?!  

 

Hopefully they wont use the same colorblind monkeys for the paint scheme that MP SS had. While IMHO The "I'm MP Thundercracker...oh wait...." Scheme made Screamer look wrong, I cant imagine how bad MP Megs could be if they do it again.

 

I'm hoping for a Tank at this point. I've been working though various MP worthy gun Megatron ideas, and I haven't found a satisfactory one yet.

Tank Megatron opens up the door for realism, as well as Don inspired awesomeness.

Another thing, as an owner of 1/24 scale tank models....Megatron will not be a 1/24 scale tank. Maybe 1/32 or something, but 1/24 is a monster.

Agreed. I own a G2 megatron, and it itself is pretty big. IIRC, it can stand pretty much even with MP convoy. Maybe a sort of medium between G2 sized and the 1/24 sized would be good for a MP figure though.  

 

All I want are the G1 legs.

I'd like to see a MP Megatron tank, myself.
It doesn't have to be a (semi) real world accurate vehicle like MP Starscream, but it should have G1 colors like MP Prime.

Just a bad-ass grey and black tank.
With the arm cannon, mace and chain, and a tiny Soundwave cassette deck to fit in his hand.
