RM Starscream wasn't that bad. At least it didn't need to have extra parts to make it a robot.

Eh. I didn't look at the pic, and I really have no interest to. The only Masterpeice figures I see myself realling getting excited over would be a Megatron or Rodimus Prime. Maybe Soundwave if he had transforming tapes.

whether it's true or not is quite hard to judge, but we'll know soon enough. It's only gonna take three or four people who've brought Mini Convoy and don't get that supposed piece of paper and the whole thing will come crashing down.

 

Bring in MP Thundercracker and Skywarp and MP Prime will be reliving the first 5 mins of "Roll for It".

Hasn't somebody already posted THS - 02 packaging pics on this very forum, like, last week? Wouldn't we have already heard about this from said person?

I mean, if this is true, I'll be as happy as a man who likes robot toys can be, and I'll be very glad that the one figure I kept when I sold my collection was MP Convoy, but this all seems rather fishy, and a little too good to be true.

 

They could just make a generic purple Decepticon as well like the OTFCC Heroes Of Cybertron set. I doubt that they will milk it THAT much though

 

Umm...we already have something like that, called RobotMasters RM-12 Starscream.  

I'll take this with a grain of salt, please.

Look at RM Convoy compared to Masterpiece Convoy. I'm sure it'd be quite possible to make a Starscream that far exceeds the quality of the RM one.

 

Easily. I spit on the RM Starscream mold. It's an overrated piece of plastic poo.

 

Agreed. I don't think anything with the "Masterpiece" tag should be including jobbers like Dirge, Ramjet, Thrust, or Sunstorm. I'd say getting two repinted figures out of the original mold would be great for everyone involved.

I do think the character selection gives us a good idea where any potential Masterpiece line is heading though. What witht eh cost that goes into making just one figure, it's obvious now that they are going to go with characters who have identicals out there. Obviously there is nothing stopping takara from doing an MP G1 Megatron, but the mold is standalone and could never be repainted, signalling a probably loss in terms of money. It's a bummer, but if repaints get us an ongoing MP line, I'm fine with it.

Still, I would like to see a Rodimus Convoy MP figure...

 

I don't think the mold is overrated, as it got a lot of slack when it was released.
But yeah there's much to be improved, especially at a larger scale..

If you're right that might mean I'll never see that MP Galvatron I so badly wish they'd make. I guess if they did make a MP Galvatron mold they could possibly get away with purple version/grey version, but it wouldn't be the same as two different characters, so it probably isn't likely. That'd still be a great toy though, I imagine.

We're talking Masterpiece here, NOT 20th Anniversary. Which means Japan and not USA. They reissued G1 Megs so they he CAN be done as a gun.....

I feel the same. it'll be sad not to see an MP Galvatron, or Rodimus Convoy. I suppose you could get away with Galvatron in grey as Galvatron II, or Rodimus in gold as Primus "(I think they did that for a lucky draw a while back). It's doubtful though. I would imagine we'll see characters like Ironhide, with a ratchet repaint, or bumblebee with a cliffjumper repaint. What would be nice is Soundwave with a Soundblaster repaint.

 

Does that mean we'll also get a MP Bumblebee? lol

Dammit. This was the final little push I needed to pre-order a THS-02.

It's done now, and if I don't get one of those sheets I'll be pissed.
