I need help deciding which to get. I tried searching for comparison photos of the two trailers but couldn't find anything. Does anyone have both?

There's no difference between the Optimus Prime models, but the official MP-01 trailer does not "transform", the MP-04 does.

I prefer MP-01 with the KO over-sized G1 trailer. The KO is more G1 accurate, and its just cooler IMO.

I only have the MP-04 Trailer but not the other.

But I have to say the trailer was pretty bland, didn't seem all that worth the extra $50 along with Prime. There weren't many details or much playability but I've grown to like it...I put my 25th G.I. Joes on it, now.

And I don't really think the MP-04 Trailer is undersized but that's more a matter of opinion.

Plus it has masterpiece-sized ROLLER! I just got one last week, worth every penny I spent on it.

I'm surprised the KO beats the real thing. I was leaning toward the MP-04 but I don't know anymore...

The KO is what the MP-04's trailer should have been. Its G1 accurate with stickers and roller.

This thread has pics of the KO trailer by several members.

My advice would be to buy the KO transformable trailer NOW before it is unavailable and then you wish you had bought it. Seriously.
It is top-notch quality, the missiles SHOOT, roller. The quality is so good that its hard to even call it a KO, the term doesn't do it justice.

I have had mine for a several months now and I am so glad I bought it now. I bought mine from Kool Toyz in a set that had 2 sets of stickers(matte and glossy), 4 extra tires, and the long smoke stacks for Prime.

    Very nice.

I honestly don't get why people say these KO trailers are better than MP-04's trailer. Give me sculpted detail over giant, tacky stickers and a block of plastic with wheels on any day.

I vastly prefer the official MP-04 trailer over any of the KO versions. I find the sculpted detail of the official version far more striking than the KO's, and love the fact that it has storage slots for his axe, blaster & mini Megatron gun. I'm also a minority who actually prefers the trailer without Roller taking up a bunch of space. Makes more room for Alternators. The way the back door opens is pretty cool as well, and the retractable base supports for when it opens are a VERY nice touch imo.

I have both, the KO is just better proportioned. And you just can't beat getting roller. I have the blue AND silver roller. Giant silver roller OWNZ!

Yeah I have one with a Silver Roller, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.

The KO trailer does look very nice. End up ordering one too. Too bad Takara isn't planning to release the trailer alone. I do find the MP-04 trailer wins on details and finish, no doubt about that. But MP-04 is hard to come by with a cheap price, and it does lack some playable features that this one comes with. Not a big fan of the interior stickers either. I'll probably leave mine pretty plain inside. A shooting roller and missiles does sound pretty neat. And while I never got to own a G1 Prime when I was little, this trailer would be a great beefed-up version of it.
