I cannot comment on his willingness to suck veins, but I can confirm that he's perfectly happy to take an explosive spear to the face.

    Yes.

Thanks! The last pic of Prime giving starscream a horse collar while kicking Megatron in the face took a good 20 minutes to set up.

 I noticed that too. My super old galaxy s3 might be dying. But yeah, I plan on revisiting this set after I get a set of arms for Megatron (my first alien attack purchase won't be firage after all) and again when a Blackout is available.

Sorry for the doubledip, but I can't resist showing how nice this guy looks with just a bit of silver added to him.

They're not perfect, but definitely serviceable stand-ins for his time guns!

General question: which versions of Ironhide, Ratchet and Jazz would scale best with the MPM figures?
    If possible, please post photos.

I use the original '07 voyagers for ironhide and ratchet. Also use the premium deluxe jazz. They haven't withstood the test of time when it comes to engineering though.

Transformed fireburst murder axegun Optimus from DOTM last night, the voyager. Actually today, it's been a while. What's ironic about the robot mode, with what I once thought were weird proportions is...

...it seems like the only transforming movie Prime prior to MPM04 that tried to replicate the CG model robot proportions. Compressed torso, long legs, big feet, big cankles, squeezed in chest, He-Man forearms, et al. Seems more like it transforms from truck to action figure rather than truck to robot, it that makes sense.

Not a bad voyager but one overlooked by many other previous Optimus Prime figures. I think it would've had a better reception had it been released/created during the 1st movie.

I actually really want the Takara version with the non-spacey, truck accurate parts. I've always been curious about that mold, and wouldn't mind owning at least the fireburst version for that axegun.

I love that figure. I have the Takara DOTM Trailer version with his mutant cannon/axe Mechtech. However, I think it was the design of the wheels on the gorilla arms that truly did him in. Definitely not as atrocious in execution as compared to DOTM Ultimate Optimus though

Even after parsing some of the collection, I couldn't bring myself to part with that one. It's really limited in leg articulation (still beats TLK Voy Prime by a long shot though), and it's super endearing to put random crap in the trailer

I debated ordering that a while back but hesitated because the trailer was so plain. I could probably turn it into a battle station with the DOTM HA basic figures. Sometimes I still think about getting it since it resembles TF1 Prime and I like the ion gunsword.
Double jointed knees or a knee joint that wasn't as high up could've really helped. Also wish the thigh swivel wasn't hindered by the faux wheels. The ball wrists aid with axe-wielding poses.

Years back I was able to mount DOTM Laserbeak as a winged jetpack. That's the glory of having all those mechtech ports; compatibility! I dig the armored bonnet and windows of the Hasbro versions, wish we could've seen Prime like that onscreen.
