Man, Breacher is so cool. I might try to hunt one down, along with the Takara version of Seaspray.
does anyone here mix in transformers from other toy line with your movieverse figures?
i ask because i recently added a red alert figure from the tf: universe series (the one based of the rid prowl) and the tf: prime beast hunters abominus.
I got ROTF Mixmaster and my gosh I forgot how great this mold was. I love the insane transformation on him and how poseable he is!
My collection has mostly movie in it. However characters that I know that probably won't be in the movie or have a design I prefer I add in from other lines. For example I feel we will never get a movie Brainstorm so Titans Return Brainstorm is my definitive Brainstorm. Also with the character Smokescreen I use Prime Smokescreen because I don't like the fact that movie Smokescreen is just a repaint of Jazz (I would have preferred if they repainted Jazz into Ricochet).
I'm a stickler for seperating figures based off their aesthetics. Even as a 9 year old kid I could never get any of the Cybertron repaints in the movie line because their aesthetics were different.
Just about the only lines I mix are WFC/FOC and CHUG. I do this partly because I see Cybertronian designs as having a different aesthetic, and upon adapting Earth vehicle forms their aesthetic changed. Plus the figures do work decently well, and IDW Has implemented them into their universe.
I've recently let my Abominus act as a placeholder for Infernocus as well.
A year or two I started going back and collecting a lot of the the Unicron Trilogy and CHUG mold movie repaints. I originally avoided them because the aesthetic clashed, but the movie toys have had so much diversity over the years that they no longer look out of place to me.
A little. I have such space issues, I've begun realizing that in some cases i can make better use of the space if I just display ones I like and don't worry about keeping things so seperate.
That being said, my displays are still mostly line and scale specific.
Pick your Ironhide:
I pick both
Yeah, I'm definitely picking up MPM Prime but if we don't get a new leader class figure than I would look forward to what companies like Wei Jiang put out as an alternative.
I hope Wei Jiang dies an Oversized Steelbane.
Just curious, but I don't want to jinx the chances. We already know the 3 Leader Class figures for TLK. What are the chances of a 4th?
If I recall correctly each movie had 3
Movie 1: Prime, Megatron, Brawl
ROTF: Prime, Megatron, Jetfire
DOTM: Ironhide, Sentinel, Bee
AOE: Grimlock, Prime, Bee
Hopefully we get more. I'd love to see what else we could possibly get maybe Dragonstorm.
Completely. I have KO Warbatron Swindle as part of the movie Cons with Blackout, Brawl and Bonecrusher. Generations Ultra Magnus scales well with the deluxe Autobot cars on his trailer.
My Four year old wanted to see my movie figures so we got them out, I don't have a huge collection but it was cool having them all out together.
I would argue we got 4 with ROTF (Starcsream) and only 2 with AOE since Bee was a repaint from DOTM (and also not widely available). But we're splitting hairs here, you're basically right. unless they're completely changing how they do movie toys in response to the movie a year arangement I doubt we'll get more than the 3 mentioned- but they might be changing it up. It's shocking how few of the new characters we seem to be getting. I wonder if they're going to change the distribution model.
Only if they added to it, like Evasion Prime.
First movie had a desert camo repaint of Brawl, and the second movie had a black repaint of Megadong.
There where also Battle Cooks Prime and Starscream present during HFTD, essentially filling the role of a wave 4/5.
Solid set of figures
No matter how wacked out the TFMovies canon gets, those Autobots will always be the original 5 first to Earth to me.
Separate names with a comma.
