Yo @Sideways77 check this shit out
This post says he will be 17 cm tall.. so he is to short by the looks of it
It seems I have to remain with OS TLK Prime..
Would anyone else be down for a toy of Robo Guan Yu? I think he could totally pass for a KSI robot - possibly commissioned by China...
Possibly his vehicle mode:
No, that's the original figure's height. Dunno how they ended up with that. He's definitely bigger than that, just going off the pictures.
Even with Megs, Screamer and Blackout?
Is there a link to buy this oversized Optimus?
Here you go
[Pre-Order] Weijiang WJ SS05 SS-05 Optimus Prime MPSS Commander
Hey, if what you have makes you happy, then pass on it. But if you think you'll want it down the road, then just wait on it. I don't think he's gonna sell out.
Haha, I was thinking the same thing, but I know he doesn't like KO's so I figured I shouldn't recommend it.
Hu..I'm gonna have to check out this Robotforce you speak of!!
Oh man, that would suck, if it's the production one. From what I saw in the vid, the wheels by his knees don't rotate up to his thighs. But on the bright side, he does have diecast.
To be fair, apparently the plastic on LT02 isn't great, even if they fixed the transformation.
It's ok plastic honestly, but it doesn't feel like it's going to break while playing with him. I will say that LT01's plastic does feel much sturdier!!
Ironhide seems perfectly in scale while Prime is a little too small. I agree this KO looks to be a good size to fit in with the other SS autobots, while the Prime we already have is a perfect scale to fit in with the SS decepticons.
However the fact that they REMOVED transformation features has me really bummed out and not wanting to order this.
It's been really messing with everyone's heads since it was originally called a "downsized KO" but all that means is that it's a DOWNsize of their UPsize. So it's bigger than the hasbro Prime.
I still want actual downsized KOs. I would love some pocket-sized figures with good articulation like Iron Factory's G1-style bots but movie style. Jazz and BeetleBee are basically pocket sized and I love them for that!
Agreed. I hate OSKOs because they go way overboard and are clunky as hell. I had M-01 Commander and he was cool but didn't go with anything and took up a lot of space so I got rid of him a while back.
I agree that the issue is with Prime's size, and not I.H. While felt that Prime was little small, I felt that he was still in scale with everyone, but that's not linger the case.
But I agree though, I hate the fact that they took away the wheel transformation gimmick. For me, that made the toy what it is. So I'm considering passing on the KO.
How cool is it that there's transformation in the knees and yet he's more posable than 95% of hasbro TF figures? So lame that they took that feature out.
SS Wave 3 is still AWOL in my country, so I went back to the same shop I got my HA Jazz from and picked up their other movie line bot, RTS Strafe.
I do hope they OS Ratchet to match that undersized oversized knock off Optimus Prime (and now 3x fast in a row!)
that way he would be the size he should be at least!
How is it that this guy is cheaper than a Deluxe in my country? He looks awesome!
I'm assuming he's old stock they're just raring to get rid of. The bubble is already damaged and as you can tell the packaging isn't in great condition.
And yes, he's awesome
I'm just happy to have another ROTF-era mold, since it's a time when I wasn't collecting yet.
I might have an unpopular opinion, but I'm genuinely curious. What is the market for the gigantic OS Weijang reproductions? Like these things are absolutely massive and don't seem to scale with anything, maaaaybe MPM sometimes? Like that giant Supreme class TLK Megatron. It looked so goofy and out of place with anything, same with their giganto SS Optimus Prime. Beautiful toy, but serves no purpose for the line it was designed for.
Not trying to bash them and obviously anyone is free to buy what they want, I'm just curious the drive for those figures, really.
I think this 22cm Studio Prime from them should be sat next to Megatron. I normally base my scales off Megatron/Prime. As long as they scale nicely I'm fine. SS Optimus is fine but man, I wish he was just an inch taller. You can play with SS Megatrons height so I wonder how this upscale will look together.
Yea, that was the whole highlight of this figure, so it makes NOOO sense to get rid of it, specially when you have more room to work with!!
I mean come on now, they went as far as adding diecast. Why not just skip the diecast and add that feature??
I pretty much agree with everything, with the exception of the 22cm Prime. I think he's a good size and will fit with the rest of the Autobots.
But I think WJ is realizing that while they do have fans of their extremely oversized figures, that some of us find them ridiculous, which is why we're getting a down scaled SS Prime. However, to me at least, it seems like they got lazy with this Prime.
