Michael bay said there was going to be no size changing in the movieverse. However, starscream, Megatron, and Optimus Prime are said to be about the same size in robot mode as each other. In vehicle mode this is not the case. Megatrons tank mode looks twice as big as primes truck mode and starscreams F-22 is 6 times as big as a truck. Another example is devastator. devastators limbs are implied to be the same size. However, long haul in his robot mode is twice as large as rampage, but they are the same size in vehicle mode. Scrappers vehicle mode is alot smaller than hightowers, but in the film they are the same. Here is the picture for proof:

I thought Long Haul and Rampage Stand on each others heads or what not, and then give themselves depth to hold Devy, my opinion.

Can't speak on the rest, but there is NO WAY an F-22 Raptor is 6X the size of a Peterbilt Tractor.

    Not again...

Devastator is formed by the alt modes combining, not by their robot modes. And the explanation for this "size changing" is called PARTS FOLDING IN AND OUT!

I think there were a few scale issues with Prime. Sometimes he looked a lot stockier than in other shots. But hey, nobody's perfect.

    they each form a leg

easily. a peterbuilt truck is about 15 feet long and weights 4.3 tons

an f-22 is 62 feet long and weights 30 tons

you dont get it, long haul shrinks when he transforms to vehicle mode and rampage enlarges. also when forming devastator scrappers vehicle enlarges so its the same size as hightower. And parts folding on and out isn't an explanation. ILM has stated that starscream does shrink when he transforms to robot mode or else he would be 55 feet tall, 20 feet taller then megatron or prime.

    F-22 Raptor
    Length: 62 ft 1 inch
    Wingspan: 44 ft 6 inches
    Height: 16 ft 5 inches
    (Source)

Peterbilt 379 (Using 359's dimensions because, for the life of me, I can't find the 379's. Can't imagine they're too far off from each other)
    Length: 25'1"
Width: 8" (I think this is supposed to be 8' and it's a typo)
    Height: 12' 4"
    (Source)

So yeah. Scream's vehicle mode is maybe 3x the size, definitely not 6x.

And BurnedAlive, you really need to give some sources for your measurements. It's clear that you've been pulling numbers out of thin air.

cant you see that starscream is as wide as he is tall thats why he isnt super tall, and megatrons tank mode has diffrent proportion then primes truck being that it is wider but lower in height,

Not to mention Starscream's digitigrade legs help shorten him up a tad.

Old stuff, but I'll mention again that in a post release interview for the first film, ILM confirmed a good deal of parts come out of nowhere for transformation, so there is cheating and size increase going on.

There is supposedly no mass shifting between transformations, but scale variation is a constant error in movies when using CGI, sometimes understandable, and sometimes unnoticeable.

wrong truck. I thought prime was a different peterbuilt. my bad

megatrons tank mode is taller, wider, and longer than primes
    truck mode.
its fanmade but its very accurate

there is a little mass shifting.

    2nded.

Longhaul should be AT LEAST twice as big as Mixmaster.
Also, I doubt Longhaul is a Caterpillar; more likely a Liebherr or a Komatsu, although someone's going to correct me I'm sure!

He could be a Caterpillar 797b or heavily based on it. But definately not the one in the diagram. Whoever created that diagram must have gotten the alt mode off of wikipedia because that's what they have him listed as.

How do you know the exact dimensions of the crabtank?

Or how accurate that crappy cut+paste job is to the official scale?
