we saw devastator in ROTF and he turned out to be okay because the vehicles he is made up of are extremely large. That is not the case for combiners like Defensor, Menasor, and Bruticus. If they were like their G1 selves, they would only be slightly taller than starscream or megatron. How would they be able to put these combiners in a movie and have them be huge without making them be made of 20 smaller robots??

how? seeing menasor and superion are made of cars and civillian vehicles, they would only be about 40-50 feet tall, which is shorter than characters like blackout and starscream

Easy. They make them out of 19 robots.

In all seriousness though, Bruticus could easily be huge. Same with Superion. There are plenty of large military vehicles. The thing is, keeping Swindle as a Jeep and a leg would probably be mutually exclusive.

Simple. Small vehicle folds out reverse-origami style to form a large limb.

Okay then... let me see. The components of the combiners you just mentioned are normal (cybertronian) size right? Somewhat like Bumblebee. So if you combine about 6 robots in one big one who's about 3 times the size of Bumblebee, you're saying he's only a little bit taller then Starscream or Megatron?

Three ways to go around this.

    1. Use very large military equipment. Tanks and jets already do nicely.

    2. More than one bot makes up one limb.

    3. Both of the above.

Ehh, after Devastator in movieverse combiners seem a bit.... pointless. He didn't do anything really and got killed so easily it would be hard to use another one and make it actually seem threatening.

Superion made out of Civilian vehicles? I'm sorry, but that's not true, NONE of the Aerialbots turned into civilian vehicles:

    Silverbolt: Concorde SST
Slingshot: AV-8B Harrier II jet w/ VTOL
    Skydive:F-16
    Air Raid:F-15C
    Fireflight:F-4B Phantom II

Last I checked, NONE of those planes are civilian vehicles (and the Concorde is rather BIG, dispite it no longer being used). On top of that, only Slingshot's height would be in question, as all of those planes are as big (if not longer than in some cases) as Starscream's F-22 mode, which means the combiner would be pretty damn tall, much taller than Starscream or the just-taller Megatron.

....Which actually makes smaller (by comparison) combiners seem all the better. More agile, and such.

Um, the Concorde was a civillian aircraft, but I see your point. Silverbolt could be a B1 Lancer, with the wings in swept mode he could make a nice jet altmode.

First & foremost, I don't think all multi-robot combiners need be the same exact size in the Bayformers universe. This tidbit would be better established if they'd kept the combining Arcee bit, imo.

Anyhoo, Superion, for example, would be quite large, menacing even. There's plenty of aircraft of all types to comprise him. However, don't limit your line of thinking on general shape. Bayverse Dev didn't have long humanoid legs, he was a monster gorilla of sorts. I sort of envision some constantly flying, winged serpent/dragon design for a Bayformers Superion. I think it would be fitting to the general direction they take with such things.

Same bit with Bruticus, there's plenty of large vehicles to pick & choose from.

Defensor & Menasor wouldn't be ginormous, but then size doesn't have to be about being Devastator in mass. They'd be quite a deal larger, likely, than Blackout/Grindor, and we all got a good view of how bigger him alone was in comparison to Prime.

Big? Double the length of the Blackbird Jetfire turned into!

starscream and megatron are easilt 5 times as large as BB

he got destroyed by a railgun. Uf it wansn't for that he would have killed all the autobots single handedly

i never said they were civilian vehicles, only that they were abit small for a combiner.

    1. They should be ALMOST as big as devastator.

    2.like tanks and jets?

    3. Blackout/grindor is about 60 feet tall, which is a little taller than menasor, which would be about 40-50 feet tall if he was real.

Not neccessarily. If you watch that specific part where the railgun blasts Devestator, all it does is blow off a limb. It's gravity that finishes off the monstorus combiner, as the loss of that limb causes Devestator to loose his place on the pyramid, and so he tumbles down the side of the ancient creation, his own mass ending up killing him as every "bounce" has the entire weight of the combiner being flung every which way within the combiner, causing him to fly apart as he fell to his doom.
