The Fast and Furious movies are my second favorite franchise. I am a gearhead, so I love how the movies portray racing and Fast Five almost made me cry because I cared so much about these characters. The vault chase is my new favorite action sequence in a movie.

Predator 2 is great. The scene where Keyes' team hunt the Predator down in the meat-packing plant is very reminiscent of what happens in Aliens. The only department that film falls flat is that we don't get to explore Mike's relationships with his fellow cops. We get brief hints about their friendships, but that's about it.

I really liked the most recent Die Hard. It scared the shit out of me, the way those terrorists shut down the country's infrastructure. My sole beef with the later Die Hard installments is how they make John's family life unravel. After the happy ending he got (and deserved) in the first film, that was a total downer.

I liked Predator 2 slightly more than Predators. It was different, yet it had some references to the original in it while Predators was nearly a straight up remake.

I loved The Expendables and I thought that it was one of the best action movies I've seen in years. I liked The Losers as well and now I think of a telepathic Chris Evans everytime I hear "Don't stop believing" by Journey.

Who could forget when Jason ties those girls in the sleeping bag and smacks them against the tree, as if they were a sack of potatoes? :lol

I agree, it was a missed opportunity.

To be fair, Johns' life didn't start to unravel until after 2. In time between 2 and 3, John's all kinds of fucked up; Holly's left him, he's on suspension and he's turned to the bottle. And, to be honest, I actually have no problem with that. It made sense and made you want to root for him; he becomes even more of an underdog. Everything in his life as gone against him, so you want to see something go right for him.

    EDIT:
It's more to do with not many people even knowing about it, then it does about people hating it; it's a huge cult movie that only massive horror fans would seek out.

Abominable. It was the best Sci Fi/SyFy Channel original movie that I've seen them broadcast because it took itself seriously for a change.

I also wanted to throw in Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. It had some unbelievably stupid parts, but to say I wasn't entertained most of the time would be a lie.

No one I know seems to like the movie "Ice Pirates" but me. I'll even bet most of you have never heard of it. But to those of you lucky enough to have seen it, what do you think?

Oddly enough, I'm the only person at my school to like Alien and Aliens. Then again, these same people who say that they sucked said that AVP Requiem was a good movie.

    Q - The Winged Serpent.

It's not exactly a movie that 'everybody hates', but I just can't fathom why anyone would hate it, and yet some people seem to. I don't get how it only rates a 6.1 on IMDb. It should be a high 7 or an 8. I can't imagine anything more brilliant or perfect. I love everything about it.

    King Kong (1976)

I like the tone they set in this film. I think the hate is misguided. Too bad they didn't include dinosaurs, but they were always superfluous to the story. I would've enjoyed them though. Peter Jackson mentioned how big a disappointment the film was, and yet his remake borrows from it quite a bit. Too much is made of the fact that it's just a man in a suit... it's Rick Baker in a Rick Baker suit. That makes a huge difference. I also liked the way they mix the mechanical arm with the suit in some scenes. They came up with some clever choreography. At times it can be pretty convincing. Also, great soundtrack.

Dragon Slayer. Not exactly a hated movie, but I didn't see this movie get even an honorable mention in the top 10 dragon movies list on Hollywood's Top 10.

That's my favorite version of the film - Jessica Lange being a big part of the reason for that.

I wanted to like Peter Jackson's, but halfway through the six-hour dinosaur stampede I lost interest.

I liked Signs and regardless of his personal life, I think Mel Gibson is one of the best actors on the planet and he deserves a second chance. Hollywood has given Charlie Sheen 15 chances and they continue to give him more so it's only fair that Mel gets one.
