Cold Mountain is probably the best movie I have ever seen. In The Bedroom had a scene that was so powerful it made me physically ill. More'n a few Army movies. We Were Soldiers, Blackhawk Down, Band of Brothers...I don't really watch those anymore, though.
field of dreams- I still tear up at the end with his dad where dreams may come-the guy loses his kids,he gets killed then his wife commits suicide. That movie makes me choke up every time
The Land Before Time (original) - The scene where Littlefoot's mother is promising him that she'll always be there before she dies. Babylon 5 - Sleeping in Light - Though not a movie, it is one of the most emotional endings to anything that I have ever seen.
P.S. I love you. No, wait, I hated that movie. Seriously though, I find myself more "moved" by TV shows simply because the longer run time allows you to become more attached to the characters, who are after all the emotional gateway as such. I'm sure I have been moved by some movies, but I can't think off the top of my head. When I get home I'll have a quick scan over the DVD shelf.
Let's see, movies that have invoked a genuine emotional reaction out of me.... The Green Mile, & Shawshank Redemption are the first ones that come to mind.
Only two films that made me cry, though their endings completely made up for it and left me more than satisfied. The Iron Giant. WALL-E. ^Go see it, you'll know which part had me holding back tears.
The ONLY reason I clicked on this thread was I saw your name as the last post. I thought, "Since when would he admit a movie touched his heart?" I should have known better.
Ok I got one for you, The Front. Woody Allen plays a guy helping black listed writers during the red scare. When he is called up and accused of being a Communist himself he delivers a speech that put a massive lump in my throat. Movies that tend to movie me are ones where the little guy is pushed to there limits and start pushing back. But speaking of Wall-E I found myself really caring about these little CGI robots that only had simple eyes for faces. Even though inside I knew things would work out at the end the last bit in Wall-E that I think is what was being referenced to had me nearly heart broken even though some dopes brought there baby that was silent the whole movie but decided at that moment it was going to start screaming.
ooh, yeah, blackhawk down, definitely. also braveheart--first at the speech before the big fight, and then at the "freeeeeeedom!" part at the end.
Requiem for a Dream might be the first movie where I felt physically tired after watching it. The fact that the first time I watched it, there was a defect on the DVD and it seriously crashed out and stopped working RIGHT at the climax of the movie didn't help. Amelie is probably my favorite emotionally touching movie ever.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The first time it became apparent to me that Jim Carrey can do serious acting. Also a really good film.
