Yes even the ones you liked. Because they still represented a bastardization of art for quick profit. The originals may be made for profit as well most of the time, but they were still held to some sort of standard for quality.

Also several third movies in trilogies. Not that a third movie shouldn't be made, just that those particular movies shouldn't have been the movie to get made. I'm looking at you Spiderman 3. A whole 10 minutes of Venom and he gets killed off without batting an eye? Or X-men 3 that reads like a bad Wolverine fanboy's fanfic.

And let's not forget Robocop 3. Really...robot ninjas? Really?

 

The third movie in trilogies is almost always either the worst movie in it, or the best.

 

Donnie Darko. Just....Why.

Maybe Alien. Aliens still rocks my socks and is a great movie, but the original is a classic with a terrifying monster that was kinda cheapened in the sequel.

 

Any of the Resident Evils. The first one wasn't great, and all the others were worse.

Oh, and any of the Halloweens past Halloween II. I like them all, but that was the end of the truly great horror films in the series. All the others are just slasher films.

I never expect someone like you to cry wolf so easily Sledge. I love it that everyone thinks that Bay&Co. intentionally made these characters racist, when first off Reno Wilson (Mudflap's voice) is black and acts gangsta. Gangsta is the new fad in our time, deal with it like I have been doing. Hopefully it will be over soon.

Yeah, you're right Godzi. It's not like even the writers seemed to agree with that criticism, were embarassed and tried to distance themselves from the portrayal of the characters.

Before we thought the Twins were hillbillies, now it seems they act gangsta. But I don't see how a robot acting gangsta has anything to do with black people. I've seen whites, latinos, blacks, etc. with the same qualities that Skids and Mudflap. Kids in my school do it too. Skids and Mudflap are just a caricature of the fad most kids follow today.

 

Yes, before the film was released, people thought they resembled a caricature of hillbillies. Then they saw the film and thought "Holy crap, how the hell could anyone think that was ok?" Can you follow that sequence of events alright?

It's ironic people associate Mudflap and Skid's traits to black people, and call their creators the racist ones. This topic has been beaten to death many times, and I've yet to see a convincing argument that shows these two characters are racist.

I agree that they weren't designed to be 'racist', nor were their portrayals meant to be it. But Bay probably thought that it was funny, and being the idiot that he is didn't realize the backlash that it could cause. Shame the writers didn't know about their portrayals sooner; they might have been able to change his mind.

But whatever the case: They're still annoying fucks who really shouldn't have been in the movie, past as the ice cream trucks from the opening.
