Sin City- Hartigan getting shot protecting the girl. An old man dies, a little girl lives...fair trade. Red Dawn- the ending when the communist officer waves and lets the brothers go. Even a commie respects brotherhood, no? John Carpenter's The Thing- The ending. it's just....a pyrrhic victory Hamburger Hill- When the door gunners on the Hueys are killing their own men on the hill. We Were Soldiers- Greg Kinnear and Barry Pepper's roles. 'nuff said. Gibson was a bit cartoonish at times, but those 2 guys gave that film tons of heart and depth.
Life is Beautiful - the whole movie is a bit too over-the-top but man seeing Guido go that far to save his kid is just touching.
I loved how the 60s Mars Attacks cards subverted that cliche by having a Martian shooting the dog in front of a kid, alhougth I can't remember whether that made it to the movie or not.
i know i might get my ass kicked by some people here, but: In the '09 version of Fame, when Malik is talking about how his sis was killed, and then later when Denise sings "Out Here on My Own", both scenes made me cry. And now others: Up:The beginning and then when his house is burning down and the picture of Ellie breaks ROTF:When Sam tells Bee he cant come to Princeton. Marley And Me:When Marley dies, when Stiller saw that girl after she got stabbed, and then when Aniston finds out her baby died inside her. And my final one. Camp Rock:When Mitchie sings "This is me" in the beginning
Another one of my saddest movie moments is in the John Wayne movie Big Jaker when his dog dies saving the kid. Hurts me to watch it every time. And the ending to District 9 is quite sad, seeing him fully morphed and all alone.
Three separate scenes from two movies come to mind. The first one is Kong's death scene in the most recent remake. Not a perfect movie, but they did get that scene powerful enough to affect me. The other two scenes are from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The most obvious is A.P.W.B.D.'s death. The other one is actually the very first scene where you see Dumbledore and Harry leaving the Ministry after the previous movie's events there. There's just something about to the music and Belatrix's "I killed Sirius Black" audio coupled with the visuals that gets to me.
no movie/moments has ever brought me to tears, but the 10th doctor regenerating was the closest anything has gotten.....when he said "i don't wanna go" that was a heartstring tugger
The end of Ladder 49, the end of Marley and Me (a few weeks after seeing Marley and Me my dog died) The near death of Zordon in MMPRTM.
In recent memory, Click. Pretty much the whole climax area of the movie always chokes me up and I had a good cry when I first saw the movie. I'm hoping you've seen Grave of the Fireflies so I can feel less alone. Every time I see mention of it, the only responses are about how sad it was. Apparently I'm the robot. I personally hated the movie with a passion, and not because I found it sad but because I found it very boring and it didn't really seem to have a plot. I didn't care about the lead characters at all, much less felt sad for them.
I feel the same way about Terms of Endearment. The only good parts were with Nicholson. Everybody else cries, but I just laugh because it's so "sad".
When Marley dies and when that girl gets stabbed- Marey and Me The beginning montage- Up The beggining- The Blind Side
Project X ...the chimp at the end ..who wants the cigg. A.I. the end.........just the thought of havin a loved 1 brought back to life for 1 day Watership Down.....yes the bunny cartoon... wall E and Short Circuit 2 and i got a lil teary eyed when i heard Peter Cullen's voice for the 1st time in a long time as Prime in the 1st transformers live action movie, but i sucked that tear right back up when my chic turned to look at me
