I was thinking about how Marvel films seem to be a rather hot item right now, and of what villains I would like to see. Obvious ones would be Onslaught, Apocolypse, Sauron, Electro, Arcade, Hellfire Club... and then one villain, one solitary character smacked my brain right out of the blue. Who else would be awesome to see on screen, and not seem too overkill except for Nathaniel Esses also known and loved as Mr. Sinister. That would be perfect, because he is a master of genetics, and science type stuff, so he could easily go against X characters, Spidey, Hulk, etc... but there's just one problem that plagued me.... Who would play him.

He would have to have several qualities similar to the character he would play:
    Good vocal talent
    Ability to act
Physical build would need to match
He would need to be able to do stunts if needed
He would need to look the part.

So without further adeu, I present to you my proposed pick to play Nathaniel Essex/Mr. Sinister:

    None other than ......

    CHRIS JERICHO
    [IMG][IMG]

Of course, he'd need a haircut, but come on, I think he'd be perfect. Opinions?

Well, in that pic he DOES have the facial structure simular to Sinister's.

Not to sure about Chris' acting ability though. I have heard he's in the process of taking acting lessons since he's really not wrestling anymore.

I think that the movie Sinister look like he's somewhere in his fifties, while the pale skin indicates his true age of (give or take) 150 years. No idea who could play that version though.

I hate to say it, but I have to agree with TheFrozenRed. Even though that man toucher was in the highlander movie and he did a decent job of it.

The Ayatollah... of ROCK... and ROLLAH... just wouldn't be right as Mr. Sinister. I'd just look at him and go... he should never... EEEEEEEVER do this... AGAIN.

    Sorry.

i think the thing with super hero physiques, only wrestlers can live up to them.

even when youre moderately buffed (say like stifler) muscled hardly show up thru spandex.

we'd end up casting all super heros with wrestlers...

    ...which would be awesome actually.

But you forget one thing. The person has to sound....smart. Something I don't think that Jericho is quite up for.

Look, Ian McKellen doesn't "look" anything like Magneto, but he was a perfect choice for the role. Why? Because he can act. You need a good actor who can nail the character down, his physique and look are secondary.

I would be inclined to cast Hugo Weaving as Mr. Sinister.

In concept, the idea of having Mr. Sinister in the movie would be pretty cool, and I wouldn't mind if he was toned down so as NOT to have the blue skin.

Off the top of my head, actors who can do the role a bit of good. This list is going by the Ian Mckellen style of casting, where the actor will do the character justice, regardless of looking the part or not:

    Jason Isaacs
Christopher Lambert (hey, it's time for a comeback)
Liam Neeson (might be too similar to his Batman Begins role)
Hugo Weaving (might be too similar to Agent Smith)
    Daniel Day-Lewis
    Anyone Except Hayden Christensen

Whoa. I just noticed that "Random Autobot" and I both thought of Hugo Weaving (I didn't read his post until after I posted that stuff up there).

    Cool.

I think if you mixed the creepy stoicness of Elrond with the pure evil of Agent Smith you'd have a great Sinister. Also, at least facially I think he's got a similar look.

I think Nathan Fillion's a great actor, really, I do, but I don't think he's the right actor to play Mr. Sinister. I can see him playing Gambit, though...

But, yeah, I still think Hugo Weaving's the best choice to play Mr. Sinister. Hell, he wouldn't even need makeup. Just give him pallid, pale skin or something.

The darn thing is, with Jean and Scott seemingly out of the picture, there'd be very little purpose for Mr. Sinister to be in the movie. Without the Summers and Grey families, Sinister would just be a mutant version of Stryker, except he's made of liquid metal.

Not to nitpick, but Sinister has silver skin with a bluish tint.

Anyway, Jericho might be good. The Rock was a decent actor. Hell, let him be sinister. "Can you smell what Sinister is cookin'?"
