    Waay, second post.

    Presenting, Shrapnel.

I kind of liked the design concept in ROTF where transformers don't necessarily have to have humanoid robot modes - most prevalent in Demolishor's design. Following that logic, I decided to come up with a new design concept and prototype model for one of the animal themed Transformers - and I thought the Insecticons were cool.

His alt. mode, as the pics show, is a CH-47 Chinook, to which he transforms from his large, hulking non-humanoid robot mode. I kept the rotor-blades intact in 'robot' mode, so he could kind of hover around like an insect. In theory.

I kind of envisage him being, how shall I put it, one of the more 'feral' Decepticons - he is an Insecticon, after all. Maybe I'll attempt some photoshoping to visualize the kind of carnage I can imagine in his trail!

Very interesting, almost has a Dinobot kind of feel. I like the alt. mode too.

Hey guys, thanks for the compliments.

Sadly, he doesn't transform - however he was very much designed so that he could transform, a bit like the War Within designs I guess. But he is very much a concept at the moment. I'll scan my 'crude' designs in so you can kind of see how he does 'transform', if I ever became skilled enough to take it further.

I'll upload some more pics of him too. Apologies if the paint job appears a little bland too - I'm a terrible painter/renderer, and I'm not quite brave enough to attempt battle damage or anything like that on this guy. He's military livery!

I'd really like to do more of these concepts. As far as customs go, I'm not really into repainting (only because I can't really paint!) or modding (because the toys are so pricey!) - so if there are any like minded posters on 'ere get in touch. I want to dream up an Autobot next...

I wish I could sneak back in my industrial art class and use their machine
    to make protos like such.

Hey guy, now need for apologies, your concept is awesome. Please keep us posted.

For anyone who's interested, I've done a rough scale match with Ironhide, to kind of suggest how big he'd be in real life:

    Ironhide would lose, obviously

That is cool, man. Something should happen with the rotors, though.
