Hey Jon5K, Love your idea for the UP Big Boy. That b&w photo on page 1 kind of had me thinkin....I know that train... ...whereas Jetfire had a nice comfy museum to hang out in this poor guy was left out to rust. (probably giving him a pretty bad attitude to say the least) Check out these pics of the same Big Boy as he is today @ Steamtown in NEPa. ...and Jetfire thought HE had a rusty arse... Anyway, keep up the great work. I can't wait to see this one completed.
I'm not a very big fan of the movie-verse figures but for some reason this wip caught my attention.Maybe because I think I would have rather seen something like this instead of Jetfire. As for a name.........I agree with StuntPrime35.I think Railspike would be a cool name for him. Can't wait to see this finished.Keep up the good work!!!!! The head looks awsome by the way
Okay, so far the names are: Ultra Magnus Omega Supreme Raiden Railspike Hmmm, all pretty cool. I might have to do a pole! Looks like I can pretty much lean toward him being an Autobot now, which will definitely influence the design process. Just gotta wait on a few more bits and bods for him!
Seekers are normally Decepticons, RIGHT? Seekers are also aircrafts in G1 right? Alright, I'll get to the point. Name him Astrotrain. I know that's kinda non original but that train just shouts astrotrain in my brain. Could be a spy train (lolwut?) heh, spying into the stars, and an embossed ASTROTRAIN on his side would be nice!
*DESIGN HELP NEEDED* for unnamed Seeker... Hey guys, As I'm now about to get rolling on this guy, I thought I'd ask for one final piece of input (besides the name...) on him. The design. I've been dabbling with various ideas, but I haven't quite nailed it yet. Essentially, how do I turn a sausage into a humanoid robot? He needs to be bulky and baaadass. Ideas/input definitely welcome. Any drawings would be ace too. I'll scan mine and stick them up too.
Gotta say I also like Astrotrain... The only thing I'm not sure about is where the 'Astro' comes into it, if all he turns into is a train... Maybe I could draw up some conceptual third alt mode. cybertronian shuttle, thats made up of train parts lol. Anyway, here a digibash I've done for the design I'm thinking... Lemme know what you guys think... I've done Autobot/Decepticon variants
To help you with the name issue, the "Omega" in Omega Supreme is as described on Wikipedia: "Omega (the last letter of the Greek alphabet) is often used to denote the last, the end, or the ultimate limit of a set, in contrast to Alpha, the first letter of the Greek alphabet." So, it would probably best be left to someone big, concept-wise. Perhaps you could use one of the RID train names? I think Railspike would be most fitting here. Hope that helps!
That's a design feature lol! Actually, its really because the 'Big Boy' (train, not euphemism) is so looong I had to do something different with it. Is sausage-former a term (again, not euphemism)? Well, it should be, because thats what he is! I reckon it'll look cool when all done, although to be fair the more I look at it, the more Decepticon vibes I'm getting. Hmmm, Astrotrain...
What about Fumo-Magnus. I used a online translator and fumo is supposed to mean steam or smoke. Which both work good for this guy. You could even go as far as having some sort of back story where because of his size and age he has to use energon to heat vapors to steam to move his massive body around.
