A sharp, stabbing pain shot through Scorponok’s battered, mechanical body. He twitched in agony as a thousand images came swirling into his head. Gears and pistons whirred into action across his scorpionesque frame as he lay there beneath the hot desert sands. Even before he could make sense of the images, only one thought came to him through the void.

Blackout was dying. In a flash, Scorponok saw through Blackout’s eyes. He saw a man shooting at him with a projectile weapon.Scorponok immediately recognized him as the same man from the desert. He tried to block the missile, but his hands were not his own. In that moment, he was Blackout. He surveyed the carnage surrounding him… Bonecrusher was dead, Devastator was dead, but Megatron fought on, unfettered by the deaths of his loyal Decepticons. Scorponok stared out through eyes that were not his own, Blackout’s shattered and beaten form was his window into the fatal battle. They were linked together. Two halves of the same spark, but Blackout was slowly fading.

Suddenly a voice sounded out through the wreckage. “Sam, push the cube into my chest!” it thundered.

Scorponok instantly recognized that voice, and the very sound of it grated into his circuits. This was the voice of Optimus Prime, the leader of the wretched Autobots. Scorponok seethed with anger. One of the flesh-creatures held the allspark aloft. Beneath the sands, he screamed as the Allspark, the very thing they had sought tore through Megatron’s chest.

Everything faded into blackness. Scorponok knew Blackout was dead. His turbines whirred into action, his claws began to spin into the desert sands. Scorponok glided through the sand as easily as if it were water. He would get there, one way or another, he would find the Autobots, and he would kill them all. Every last one of them, he thought to himself; even if it took him an eternity. He burrowed through the sands and scanned for a possible means of transport. He could wait. He would rebuild himself, the flesh creatures had blown off his tail, but he would make himself stronger. He was out for revenge.
