My fist review so here we go.....
This is a shelf warmer at all the Wal*marts in my area....I wouldn't spend $5 on it.
I'd spend $5 on it... but certainly not the $30 they're asking for. A $22 trailer? I don't think so.
I'm glad I had the walmart exclusive deluxe. It looks better IMO.
They really should have done more with the trailer, although it looks great, and if anyone wants an affordable Prime to display in vehicle mode, here it is.
Also, this isn't really a review. It's just a bunch of pictures.
No gun included? Surprising.
I'd buy this, if it wasn't 45.00 at my local Wal-Mart.
Also, I find it hillarious that Soundwave is in the bottom of the box.
I kinda really want to get this for my boy, but I know that this thing will hit clearance. Theres SO many of them. I really like the trailer, But im not spending $30 on it.
Even at clearance,i will not get it.
What are your thoughts on Movie Trilogy Optimus Prime?
Like the title says what are your thoughts on it?
I don't have any movie primes at all so I figured to get this. I was planing on mostly leaving it in Truck mode to display.
I didn't intend to get any Leader Class Primes so out of the Deluxes available from all 3 movies how does this one stack up?
What about Ultimate Optimus Prime. Is that one much different? (The actual Prime not the trailer. I know the trailer is different).
Also is this the same trailer that comes with the set with Movie prime and G1 prime?
Was this deluxe mold of Prime used before?
Thanks in advance for the responses and help.
Including the trilogy, there are at least 3 DOTM Deluxe Optimus.
Walmart exclusive Prime
Walmart exclusive Lunar Prime (with gold instead of grey)
Trilogy (brighter blues and reds)
I have all 3, that being said, I can't stand it, it's such a weird transformation and I don't like it. However the truck mode isn't bad, If had wanted just one Movie prime in deluxe scale for optimus it would be the Trilogy version because it comes with the trailer.
The trailer it's self is completely empty, nothing in it but a couple of 5mm ports.
This will probably help you weigh some of the things you're inquiring about: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...82526-movie-trilogy-optimus-prime-review.html
Everything about Ultimate Optimus Prime is different. The core robot is pretty much an Ultra class figure.
The deluxe mold of Optimus in the trilogy set has been available before, and probably still is available, as a walmart exclusive figure in two different decos (each using a different mechtech weapon, the repaint has a red version of the standard voyager Optimus mechtech weapon)
The trailer in the trilogy set is the same trailer that comes with the Chronicle set of this deluxe Optimus, and the G1 Optimus.
The figure itself is pretty good. Not great, just good. It's a little back-heavy, and has no actual ankle support, so he can have trouble standing in some poses. most poses will work if you're careful about balance, or move his feet around a little.
I like it actually in truck mode, but I also got mine for $11 on sale. I think the bot mode is garbage, but it actually has a pretty clean truck cab, and makes for a decent display piece MISB. Not worth $30, but at $20 or less I think it is a solid purchase. I still have a stack of the Walmart ones that I got for about .70 each after tax.
What's wrong with the leader class, too expensive for you?
I think this comment is inappropriate. He asked specifically about the deluxes and whether leader class is or isn't too expensive for him, it foes nothing for the discussions.
I bought my Trilogy prime for full price and I regret it. I dislike the deluxe transformation and immediately turned him back into a truck cab for display. I might just put him back in the box when I move. I wish I had found him on sale.
^ Well in that case I have no idea. Leader class or nothing for me. Just my opinion.
Yeah, same for me. When the movies toys first came out I was actually choosing between the deluxe and Leader Class Prime and I chose the latter. Can't say I regret it because it looks better and scales better with the other TF movie toys.
This set would be more appealing to me if:
- The trailer split open like the Mech Tech trailer (vintage G1 Optimus homage).
- Optimus had more of a G1 paint deco.
- Included the Legends scale Roller in G1 blue and gray.
I would pay the full $30 for that.
If this is a review, why's it here?
Should this not be in the feedback section?
Someone fucked up when trying to merge this topic into the feedback forum review topic.
