Okay, noob here. Been outta Transformers for a long time since the G1s. Anyways, I'm seeing like 3 different classes of toys, deluxe, voyager, and leader. Are they going to release all the movie toys in all of the classes? And what is the difference between the classes? Size of the toys?

I bought my son the Target special edition '74 Bumblebee and concept Bumblebee and Bonecrusher, which are all in the deluxe class...and just wondering if I'll be able to get the other movie characters in the deluxe class as well.

No, the movie characters won't be released in multiple size classes. The only ones who have been are Brawl (deluxe and leader), Megatron (leader and voyager), Optimus Prime (ditto), and technically Scorponok (deluxe and accessory for Blackout).

The difference in size classes is as follows:

Deluxe - $10 price point, smallest of the mainline figures.
Voyager - $20, medium sized figures.
Leader - $40, largest figures, come with light and sound effects.

As far as the core movie characters go, the breakdown is:

    Deluxes
    Barricade (with Frenzy)
    Bonecrusher
    Brawl
    Bumblebee
    Other Bumblebee
    Jazz
    Scorponok

    Voyager
    Blackout (with Scorpy)
    Ironhide
    Megatron
    Optimus Prime
    Ratchet
    Starscream

    Leader
    Brawl
    Megatron
    Optimus Prime

    Hope that helps.

Hey Switchblade, what about the Scout class? Little blue Arcee Target exclusive was in the movie...sort of.

Blue Arcee wasn't in the movie. Deluxe Arcee was sort of in the movie, as she is the same model bike as Lennox's. (Infact, Tak/Tomy has repainted her to match that bike)

Ok, 2 more questions. 1 is there any way of knowing if the other movie Transformers will be released in a certain class. Like will Optimus and Megatron be released in the Deluxe class? So that they'll be around the same size as Deluxe Bumblebee and Jazz, etc.

Second, was Brawl in the movie?? I saw a tank but I thot he was called Devastator?

There are currently no plans for Deluxe versions of Prime or Megs.

And yes, Brawl and Devastator are the same guy. I prefer to call him Devastator, as it is more fitting. But all products are labeled Brawl.

The best versions of Prime and Megatron are the leader class versions, though they are the most expensive, they are also the most fun and accurate.

The Voyager versions are not quite as good. Voyager Prime is not very accurate and kibbly. Voyager Megatron is just a horrible figure.

Prime and Megatron won't be released in Deluxe class or we'd know about it :)  They would be the wrong scale, anyway.

Devastator was Brawl's old name, which they used during production. There are conflicting reports as to why the name wasn't changed in the subtitles. But yes, Brawl and Devastator are the same characters.

EDIT: DAMN YOU SPLIT LIP! Damn you to hell! *sobs in front of the half-buried statue of liberty*

See if I remember correctly...last I knew of Devastator, he was like a giant robot made out of 6 Constructicons.

He was, but as is often the case with TF lines down through the years, names get re-used for totally different characters. :)

Afaik it was a movie translation error. The tank is supposed to be called Brawl, but somehow it got messed up to Devastator in the movie.

Guess you didn't understand, Switchblade didn't list any scout class toys, (appropriately, from a movie toy standpoint) and I just wanted to tease him since Black Knight wasn't just asking about movie toys, but about all the size/classes of TF toys. So I tossed the Target exclusive Arcee in the mix. I wasn't looking for accuracy of the molds, just indicating that there are more size classes than dlx, voy. and Ldr.

He asked about the movie characters, I gave him the movie characters. Arcee wasn't in the movie.

Transformers doesn't maintain continuity like, say, the Marvel Universe does. Movie 07 Optimus Prime is not the same as G1 Optimus Prime, for example.

What do you mean he wasn't the same? He looked different but he sounded the same and said the same things.

Same voice actor and they purposely used the same lines as a throwback. He obviously wasn't the same cause he was a conventional truck instead of a cabover and he had flames.
