Movie toys so far found in Australia.

For the non-Australian board members and lurkers - Already reported in the tfw2005 sighting section, the Movie toys have started showing up in the last week in Toyworld stores in three different states around the country. First sighting last week (April 28) was in Adelaide, then Brisbane and Woolloongong in the last couple of days.

    So far found are:
Voice changer helmet AU$90 (about US$74)
Cyber Slammer Optimus, Barricade, Bumblebee AU$17 (about US$14)
Protoform Optimus and Starscream AU$27 (about US$22)

Photo proof of the Adelaide store toys:

Toyworld stores are usually small, franchise stores, so will put stock out as soon as they get it - not because they are refusing to abide by the release date, but because many don't have back rooms to store stock or space to sit on stock they can't sell for another month. The big chain stores will more likely hold the stock at their warehouses until the release date, making Toyworld and any other independant toy sources, the best places to check out before the June 2nd official release date.
If you find something new or in another location (in Australia), post about them in the tfw2005 sightings section and I'll let other Australian collectors know about it.

The Toyworld people I was speaking to when I got my protoforms said they were expecting a spackload of movie stock as well, so good news on that front. Sadly, they only had two boxes at that point of the protoforms...

But tell me, since i havem't seen anything else about it, is anyone else's proto Screamer's waist balljoint really really prone to popping out?

Yes, mine does that too, but not too bad. It is a flaw I can live with. Just put crazy glue on the ball joint itself let dry than reattach. that should tighten it up a little, and prevent it from coming loose all the time. I've been doing that for years with many ball jointed figures and I never had a problem. Hope that helps.

Meh, we get things first all the time.

I don't mind waiting until the actual release date. First, the extra wait will likely make me appreciate them all the more. Second, a true release date makes it somewhat more likely that I'll be able to find everything in one whack without having to go on multiple hunting excursions.

    What about you? :D

I wonder if it still burns you up that we had a crapload of hasbro astrotrains (I got 5 for ~$18AUD each), and nemesis primes (I got two), at retail? :D  And I still see astrotrains yet pass on them because "meh, I already have 5 of those". Yes, yes, feel the anger that you have to pay $30+USD at the hasbro online shop. :D

But then you guys turn around and have botcon with outrageously priced repainted exclusives. So let us have what we can gloat with. :D

The city stores didn't? I was planning on having a look in at them tomorrow on my way to QUT. Ah well, who knows, they might be there by then. Or not. Doesn't really matter to me anyway as for some reason, I'm really patient for this line right now, the wait doesn't bother me.

Probably because I've been burnt over them releasing seperate deluxes, then putting them in twin packs later. Man that really pissed me off with cybertron and classics, I mean, REALLY pissed me off. So stuff it, I'm going to be a cool fucker and wait for the twin packs as you just know they'll do it. They'll probably even make a special blackout + deluxe scorponok pack, which are two of the handful that are priority on my list.

As I pointed out in the Sightings thread back Saturday morning when I staggered out of bed after a 1AM return from Spidey 3 (driving while that tired=not teh good), the protoforms were available at Mr Toys Queen St Mall. I didn't check the level 2 Myers. But they only got two boxes in the shipment I saw - 4 of each toy per box, and I snagged one of each from the first.
