You and me both. Jazz looks really great in the pictures.

Glitch, thanks for sharing the info on the toy production process. It's always insightful to hear things like this.

Jazz and Ratchet are going to be cool based on what these have demonstrated.

Ya it was Bumblebee. There might be a small delay. I sent the guy the money, then he refunds it. What kinda shit is that?
I guess i'll have to western union the money. He does not like unverified paypal accounts. All the stuff I buy on ebay this guy is a problem.

I wonder why? Can't you just verify your account while he waits, or can't he just wait for the money to clear?

Be careful wiring the money to people. That's the classic method of payment for ripoff scams.

Well, I think SPX is fairly reliable. He sells a lot of TF prototypes.

OMG... Aside from the police car... the toys look like shit. I just bought some of the classics.... they are awesome.... why aren't these awesome too? Blarg... ugly tank, wtf is frenzy?????? .. he looks like a throw back gobot from the 80s only worse. Same to skorponok so far, worse than a gobot, and totally unappealing, totally ugly.

I won't be dropping cash on these, I've never said that before.

    the toys

    Here's my 2 cents:

A)Bumblebee - Yes, I, too hate the painted windows. Bot mode is okay, and yes, I think the bent license plate thing is plain stupid. I was hoping he'd have horns on his head. His legs look mistransformed. I like the G-1 Classics one better - by the way: What kind of car is the G-1 Classics Bumblebee? A Toyota Matrix or Yaris? A new Ford Escort? Anyone know?

B)Barricade - I actually like the head on the toy better than the head on the render that has leaked out for the movie. Hope they change it for the film, as the render I saw has him looking like a multi-eyed vampiric cyborg with steel teeth, IMO. His arms look out of proportion to the rest of his body. And Frenzy?FUGLY!!!I thought Frenzy was going to be a tape deck or something? Frenzy looks like a bad lab experiment that cross-bred some spiky-haired anime character with a robot, yielding an ugly, silver-skinned 4-eyed(literally) cyborg. I bet my 5-year old niece could kick Frenzy's butt (if Frenzy was real).

C)Brawl - I'm really feeling him alot, and out of all of these toy renditions, he is my favorite. He doesn't seem to be too different from G-1, which is fine for me, since I grew up with G-1. Also reminds me of G-2 Megatron. His hands do look, burnt, LOL!!!

You know, what with MTMTE and the early Marvel book, I have to say there's something pleasantly symmetrical about the universe when an oil rig worker collects Transformers. Just watch out for those flying ray guns.

That would be freaking, supersweet. Barricade is my favorite of the three and if he came with a cool action gimmick like that it'd be pure awesome. As something that comes free with another figure, I don't see any reason to make any kind of big deal out of it. He's no worse then many minicons that came with Armada figures or three packs.

I actually have the armada Hotshot and my only real complaint about him is his lack of arm articulation. Otherwise he's one of my favprite designs. That said, I dislike the movie toy version of 70's BB, he just feels off. Maybe it's because he's mistransformed but I'm not liking the toy. Much like many other I am hoping there are better versions targeted towards collecters with more detail at a higher pricepoint.

I'm glad that's how it ended up. I'd rather have an awesome movie with super detailed, complex bots and crappy toys then ok-ish toys with toy-like bots in the movie. This film isn't just another giant toy commercial for Has/Tak, it's Hasbro's attempt to make the giant leap from a simple toy company to an intellectual property company that also makes toys. This is their way of saying "we're not just for kids and fanboys" to the general public who sees TFs as nothing more then kids stuff and nostalgia fodder.

    He's using logic, get him!

He's just a generic little hatch back. He does seem to have some styling cues a bit reminiscent of a Toyota Matrix, or a Ford Focus, though.

Just remember folks: Nearly EVERY movie toy ends up on the clearance rack by the time it hits DVD. Superman, LOTR, X-men, I could continue on and on.

They do, but they are Transformers, which isn't just some movie tie in, its the movie based upon a toy license.
