So Japan's G2 Megs was purple?


I know BW2 Megastorm had our G2 Megs colors, but had no idea that Japan's Megs was purple instead.

Why do they make new Hound when everyone already bought TLK voyager? And, yeah, I have my Jetfire for 7 years already, I love him even with the blueish parts  Why they didn't make normal painting in far 2009? Was it so difficult?

 

We got both a big Megatron in green with purple camo and a smaller purple "Hero Megatron." Same mold was used to make Bludgeon in RID01.

Japan only got the smaller purple Megatron until they used the big figure in BW2 for Megastorm. Which is why people figure if Takara refers to G2 Megatron, they most likely mean purple, because their market only saw green Megs as a different character.

 

New movie toys when?  

All I see is repaint central...

Call me crazy but is that the shield for nemesis prime on the left next to jetfire\'s arm? If it is then that pretty much confirms that he\'s using te caliber Optimus mold

 

I can't believe no one took a better picture of that G2 Megs.

Could not care less about Jetfire. I doubt the past eight years have made that mold less terrible.

 

This is obviously their master plan, to charge more for the ROTF leader in order to offload all their MPM-4s /s

  • MB-16 Jetfire (Looks to be a reissue of the DOTM repaint of the ROTF Leader figure but now with a different gold paint tint, painted red eyes, and a more vibrant blue cockpit.)
  • MB-17 Optimus Prime Revenge Version (Hybrid of the 2011 DOTM Retool (forearms, crotch) with the torso of the original 2009 Leader Class figure and the recent poseable hands.)
  • MB-18 War Hammer Bumblebee (Redeco of the 2nd TLK Deluxe figure with a new Hammer accessory.)
  • MB-19 Hound (redeco of the TLK Voyager.)
  • MB-20 Nemesis Prime (redeco of the TLK Calibur Leader Class figure.)

 

Assuming that the lockdown isnt a further retool of the hotrod figure and not just a swapped out head....this is a largely uninspired release. Even so im disappointed.....Takara used to knock it out of the park with better paint jobs for movie figures but since theyve already had a vanilla tlk release it just seems like even less reason to purchase anything....

 

It is the original crappy AOE Lockdown figure, I matched the sculpt details to it.

 

I honestly understand the intentions of "Movie The Best", to celebrate releases of movie character toys from 07 up to now, but I agree that repaints feel like a contrived attempt to shove volumes of old merch without investment towards new design. I love the 07 Toys, but I think a celebration of something should involve taking it in a new direction

Or maybe I'm dreaming out my ass again. Yep, that's probably it. I still hope Hascon can leave us with at least 3 new movie based molds

 

I think Takara's goal is to, between all the years of Hasbro and Takara releases, give every mold at least 1 "Premium" level paint job version.

 

If the recent pics showed Blaster as DOTM Soundwave DLX repaint, they better do Leadfoot down the road

Why would they retool backwards from Hot Rod when hot Rod was based on Lockdown to begin with?

 

Stupid question, but is this the Jetfire that can combine with OP? I remember when TRU had the sale of them in the two pack...is that the same one basically?
