This is the beginning of a project I started over at DM.Net to allow the fans to design their own Soundwave. The alt mode was decided by the fans in a poll.

This is an ongoing project and these designs are mostly WIP.

    Here are my designs:

    Soundwave V1:

No, that design was done by a fellow named Timshinn, who also took part in the project. The design process is really just warming up, but he managed to bang that out really quick.

I'm working to come up with a design with a fully fleshed-out transformation scheme, and the sketches you see above are the beginning of that design process.

    Excellent work! :)

This is exactly what I mean when I speak of staying closer to the original in both aesthetics and recognisability. I think yours is a lot better than Timshinn's even, as Tim's made more compromises towards the alien design aesthetics, with the typical odd movie elbows and all.

I would love to hear which people think those look like humans in suits...

Btw, head designs 1, 5 and 7 are best, IMO of course.

Simply outstanding - my personal preference would be the body of v1, with the shoulder cannon from v3, and head design #5.

And the idea for Ravage is just brilliant.

    Looking forward to further developments!

great work, especially love ravage, but... still has a way to go yet before it'll look movie-like, i think you need to imagine his robot mode being quite a bit bigger that it currently is, wth the inner workings pushing out the outer plating into smaller divided pieces.. the ironhide concept art (the one with teh man next to him for scale and the prime-face-mask on) is a fantastic reference for movie aesthetics

The drawings look tremendous, and you did a great job. But it would never fly as a movie design, because it actually looks like Soundwave. Hehe. But seriously. It looks awsome!

A combination of V1's upper body with V2's lower body would be perfect (IMO).
