Thanks to Comicbookresources.com for spilling the beans on this one. Bay's website has a sneak peek "featurette" of the movie. Nothing really all that new, though. Bits of the old teaser and lots of explosions.

That's the one from the DVD. I love the fact that they use the original transforming noise at the end. After seeing this small tidbit, I'm actually excited about the movie.

Are the mods going to delete this thread too? Or now since its officialy on Bay's site they'll leave it on. I posted this in a topic the same week the DVD came out, the thread got deleted about 5-10 min after without any mention why. Thanks...

They probably deleted it because there was already a thread devoted to the DVD discussion in TFGD...

And yeah, after seeing that on the DVD I got super excited hearing the old school transforming sound too. That, Peter Cullen and hopefully Frank Welker would make the entire movie for me.

Enough with the same old teasers and featurettes. I want a damned trailer already!

My guess is that the teaser was illeagally uploaded from the DVD before and this forum doesn't allow reposting of copyrighted material without proper consent, hence that topic was deleted. But since this is now an official online source for the trailer they can leave it up.

I didnt realise this was the exact same one as the DVD, mostly because I dont have the DVD. :lolol

That said, I'm glad there's a place I can watch it legally now. Not that's there's really much to discuss about it. It's kind of nice to see the vehicles moving around, and we KIND of see a giant robot in the form of 'comet mode'. But relatively bland when it comes to new info.

    FYI Deefuzz

Deefuzz when I click on the "Discuss" button on the front page, instead of being taken to the thread here. I'm taken to the blog entry on MichaelBay.com. I'm not sure if you did that on purpose or not. But if you didn't, now you know :)

And I guess that's probably the reason why this thread hasn't been turned into an all out pro and anti-movie fans war. :p

They sped it up a lil bit, but it still sounds good.

I noticed that too when watching the DVD. But of course, it's probably yet another ploy used to keep old fans' interests peaked.

I love how almost everything to do with the PRE-movie hype is directed squarely at us - from things as major as the characters being used to minor things like the transformation sound - but whenever called out on all of their bad decisions, we're told the movie isn't actually for old fans and that we should shut up.

    Best deceptive marketing ever.

    Doggon Decepticons... :poke

    *****

Personally, I think Orci's full of crap. Nobody thinks this film will be a cartoon. We all know that this is a live action movie.

    Moron.

    Or troublemaker.

This looks to be a whiz-bang movie... lotsa boom and bang. But... will we like what the robots look like when they transform at 80 mph?

Or someone who realizes that not everyone out there thinks this will be a serious movie (and I'm talking about the mass audience here, not the fanbase). Remember that this is STILL a movie based on an 80s TOY franchise. X-Men, Spiderman and Batman were all acceptible because they are basically part of Western pop culture, and they've been around for a long time. It's why it was so hard selling GI Joe (which got cancelled because of the war with Iraq) and after that Transformers to the studios, and why the younger studioheads had to convince the older ones to do it.

Remember how some people reported that general movie goers laughed at the teaser trailer? THAT'S why they keep hammering on "this isn't a cartoon/this isn't a toy advert" (and probably another reason they made the designs more 'mature')
