I am really digging a LOT of the movie figures, and like most the only part that is kind of a let down is the lack of paint apps (understandable on Hasbro's part.) I am completely fine with this however, because it makes for doing some fun repaints.
Breakaway is really a unique mold, and I love the arm mounted gatling gun.
I have no connection with the character however, and his noggin bugged me.
So, I decided to repaint and modify him into a cool movie Sky Dive. I basically hollowed out the cockpit section to allow for placement of a new balljoint and Stockade's head. I also did away with the monster toes with some sanding and thin styrene.
    Hope you like!

    It's as if Breakaway got a back-brace and a face-lift. I like it!

I like that, there's your ine game airialbot right there. Looks really cool, should do that with breakaway as just himself, would probably make his figure even more enjoyable than it already is. I don't own it, but I know someone that has it, and am highly concidering buying it. 1 non-on screen character per faction I always say.

I just got a new breakaway and am trying to turn it into dirge(Since theres a Thrust coming out from this mould) can you tell me exactly how you modified this? I'd really appreciate it.

How did you get the nosecone to move like that? It doesn't look like you really did any cutting right there...

nice work, although skydives head was pretty much identical to the fallen's, so maybe movie skydive should look like movie fallen.. haha!

looking forward to seeing your superion, have you started work on customising jetfire yet?

Love your mods to this figure... I was thinking of doing something similar. He looks so much better. There's so much to love in this figure, but he just needs a little work. :)

The nose cone is made of the vinyl/rubber that Hasbro uses for it's pointy bits. This allows you to just yank off the nosecone. What I then did,was carve a shallow groove with an Exacto knife from the original notches that held the nosecone in place, all the way to the edge that touches near the cockpit. This allows the nosecone to slide back and forth on the hinged post without any distortion. This way it can fold all the way down in a less awkward position.
