Outback was always one of my favourite mini-bots back in the G1 days,so i thought i would give him a Movie update.
I based his vehicle mode on the Scorpion Desert Patrol vehicle with a TOW missile launcher.
I Used Movie brawls head & made a few minor re-sculpts.

All other parts were from a Jeep kit which happend to have the Tow launcher on it.

Outback was painted with Games workshop paints (Mainly Bubonic Brown,Dark flesh,Dwarf Bronze & boltgun metal)

    Loads more pics here..

That is extraordinarily nice and the Brawl head works very well. Love the color and the metallics, and the extra parts & decals are icing. Did you hand stencil that autobot sign?

If hasbro produces a repaint of this guy Id pick it up.

VERY WELL EXICUTED! i like what you did with the lights. your painting technique is top notch .
when i bash mine i want to do something with the propane tank feet. they drive me nuts i just dont think a military vehicle should have such a fatal flaw or easy target

Looks GREAT! Excellent paint job... I love it. The Brawl head is a perfect fit!

Admittedly though, this custom just screams "Swindle" to me.

(although technically I guess there already is a Movie Swindle).

About the propane tanks, I'm assuming that they put the tanks up top because it's actually safer than mounting them on the bottom of a military vehicle that is used for driving over extremely rough, landmine-laden terrain.

Anyway, in the case of this Transformer, I think we can be safe in assuming that they aren't really fuel tanks, but merely part of the disguise.

i agree swindle all the way and booo! on the movie swindle. propane tanks well i have yet to see them on the actual military vehicle. i think it is just may be Hasbro tinkering. good point on them being on the bottom .although i think the dune buggy would be destroyed no matter what if it hit a land mine.

this looks really nice. Good job! I'm so glad that we're finally seeing more "creative" movie customs, and not just cookie-cutter "I added drybrush details" ones.

I've seen this same model of buggy used for civilian off-road/rally racing... maybe the tanks are stored topside on those ones too to protect them from terrain damage they might incur.

No idea whether this practice is observed in military versions...

And yeah... Movie Swindle sucks. This guy owns him, and should steal his name just like Divebomb did to Swoop in the UK comics. :)

    Thanks alot guys:thumbs2:
I did consider doing him as Swindle but i figured if i was going to do swindle i would have to do all the Combaticons & i`m not ready for a Movie combiner yet.
The propane tanks are something i really regret not changing,i should have made them ammo crates.
The Autobot symbol is just a Reprolabels sticker that i painted over.
It was from an Academy kit of a 1956 MUUT,its strange that the TOW launcher hasnt changed much in 50 years.

You made an awesome figure here, Spurt. The biege looks like a mold color instead of a repaint. Very nice.

Wow, I love this custom! I love all of your paint apps, all of your design choice, and it doesn't hurt that the base mold was made of awesome to begin with. GREAT job man! :thumb

Great job on this one. Personally, I think you have some of the best painting skills i've seen on these boards... or on anywhere else for that matter.

Brilliant work. Top notch paint job, and the Brawl head works really well as a movie-aesthetic Outback. On top of that, even the hands are kind of reminiscent of the G1 version..!

Could you please give us some pictures of his vehicle mode? I'm really curious about how the colors look without the copper-shaded innards showing.
