I just wanna know how the double wheels that are at the back of the truck in vehicle mode end up by his hips??? How the heck does that happen?

Ummm...actually, the comparison is pretty good. They are both just as skeletal. The only thing missing from the Bionicle pic is the scarce armor and the tubing, but they are along the same lines.

I don't think is that bad of a Prime though. Better than I had anticipated. I actually think he looks pretty bad ass. Lol, I think he could kick G1 Primes a$$.

Still bothers me how the toys are going to look FAR different than the movie models. BM all over again.....*sigh*....

its actually on his thighs - i would speculate that the legs would in truck mode be parallel to the ground and the body, torso and arms would fold over the legs to form the cab and the hood.

If we're getting the Armored Terminator versions, full of gaps and little parts, then I'm hoping that's used for full effect.

E.G. Starscream grabs a 12-foot pipe, sticks it right in that gap in Prime's chestplate, and pries half the sucker's chest off. Then Prime gets to drive around missing a door in truck mode. That sort of thing.

To clarify, I don't hate these designs (well, except maybe Megatron and Starscream). I don't understand them.

To me, it looks like they've worked hard to NOT emulate the original designs, and I'm not sure why one would do that. 25 years worth of design work already exists for these characters, and I'd see that as a major bonus in the design process.

I'm hoping it's not a case of "change for the sake of change." That's how we got Bat-Nipples. Maybe the DVD will shed some light on why the production team went this direction, cause I sure don't get it.

It looks pretty dam good to me. I wonder if Prime will have a battle mode- to cover up a little more?

    Prime Colors

So someone said it and I was thinking it, so here is what this movie Prime would look like if he wasnt orange with blue flames, but instead had his actual color scheme.

Liking this version of Prime very much... but it JLvatron does have a valid point in saying that this Prime has similarities with Bionicle.

    Oh Snap....

I think that's the problem ALOT of people are having. IT doesn't make a whole lot of sense, other than ego stroking and whatnot.

There's an interview where Bay told Hasbro "start over..."

That should tell you something right there.

Primes double wheels have always been down by his ankles with his front wheels on his thighs. Some how his torso slides to the back and the bottom front of the cab transforms into his feet. Interesting to see how they pull that off in the toy.

Again, sake for the sake of change, nothing more.

I don't have a problem with the flames to be honest, but they really don't need to be there other than to give it that Pimp My Ride/Rice Burners are cool nonsense.

The designs still look like they've ripped off of other franchises. From the gun (MIB), to the Bionicle designs, to Megs design (Guyver/genereic evil looking alien). Instead of sticking with the TF aesthetic that made them stand out as Transformers, they've just copied designs from other things and claiming them to be "new and fresh".

At least Prime looks decent. Here's hoping the other bots look just as good.

Yes and it makes Magnus jealous!

Seriously, that is a beautiful design. I don't think it's going to TF exactly like that in toy form though. I think this will look good on the big screen.

What I really want to see is the toy. Show me the toy please... anyone... someone... must see toy...

I am more than impressed with this dedisgn of Prime, I don't know why some of you guys don't see how he transforms. I don't think toy would be too much different deom this pic.

ON the other hand, it was a barrel of fun that comaprison with Bionicle! So now Prime is a TOA! :drunk

I think Bioncle Prime stole that gun from the guys in the Men in Black movie.
