That would mess kids up. That's no cool at all. I hope it was an honest mistake and not some a-hole employee pulling a prank.

Thats almost as bad as when I got the start of some 3D kiddy film when I went to see Snakes on a Plane, I was outraged at being inflicted with unamusing blandness instead of SLJ swearing at animals.

Eh. It's not great, but it's not exactly the end of the world. If that's what scars those kids permanently, they were gonna be screwed up by something else sooner or later.

Similar thing happened to me and a friend in 5th grade, his mom gave us money to see a movie but she told us it has to be a G or PG movie.
So we paid to see Planes trains & automobiles but in the threatre they played Robocop instead by accident. It was F*CKING AWESOME!

Dad spanked the hell out of me afterwards but it was totally worth it!

Also remember mom taking me to see Poltergeist and the scene where the guy rips off his face scared the hell out of me. I ran.
After mom coaching me in the hall "it's just a movie" I was brave enough to go back in, only to be greeted by the giant ghost spider screaming!
I was like F you mom you suck.waaah

Then she had the nerve to drag me in another time to watch 'Terms of Endearment".
It's a good movie I guess, but it was like torture at my young age

Of all the scenes to accidentally slip in... wow.

    That's EPIC.

Something similar happened to some friends of mine when we were kids. They went to the local theater to see the third Ninja Turtles movie, and instead got the first 8 minutes of Sliver (at least I think it was Sliver), complete with a naked woman in a tub.

You'd think they'd catch on early by the tone of the film alone, or by the horror movie trailers that they played before it.

Maybe Tyler Durden was working the reels that night. (ok, not funny)

Sometimes people get their heads up their asses about inconsequentialstuff like this, when there's worse things that could happen. Parents have to learn to dose the sheltering…

I can see the fuck-up happening. The film reels are likely directly next to each other and someone likely grabbed the wrong reel. The theater should have caught it earlier, probably during the first 2 minutes or so. The employee should at least get a written reprimand if it's his first incident. If this wasn't his first incident, they should be fired.
