Here are some WIP shots of my movie Megatron. I really liked Timshinn's method, so I've been emulating it. However, I like the "worn" look more than I do the "refined" look, so I may leave him like this when he goes on Ebay.

It's looking amazing, how did you get that worn look?

The worn look I'm getting comes from painting the entire figure (well, the parts of it) in black - I used Fusion gloss black - and then heavily dry-brushing the entire figure. I'm using Tamiya silver for the worn silver.

Love that silver and black, does the original paint job come with the paint on those wired parts in the first and second pic?

Nope. I stripped the original paint. I loooooove painting on li'l wiring details like that, so I might go back and add more copper or brownish wiring later on, too.

Awesome. Drybrushing silver over black always looks so stand-out and amazing. Really, drybrushed silver over most anything dark looks good.

But what sets this one apart is how good a job you've done of making the detailed bits you've colored differently still look a part of the whole. That's not easy. It's easy to make little extra bits like that look way too bright and over-the-top next to the basically dirty areas surrounding them.

This one looks very, VERY good so far.

Yay for worn look. It's the same route I took with mine.

Looks pretty good man. Look forward to seeing it when you're done.
