Are the movie line figures worth collecting? Wondering what everyone's thought is on them gotten into chug line but haven't decided on the movie figures.

As with any other line, there are gems and there are turds.

    To each their own.

I really like them; most of my collection consists of them! :lol  The Dark of the Moon Wreckers are especially amazing to me! :D

That depends entirely on how much you like the movies. If you like them, then definately.

IMO they're the best non-masterpiece non-Alternator figures we've ever gotten. The design elements and construction are just amazing. That said, if you do want to collect them, stick mostly to the Revenge of the Fallen figures, with a smattering of Dark of the Moon thrown in here or there. RotF was really the highlight of the three movies, even if it was the worst movie itself.

it's all opinions, dude. personally i think most of the movie 1 toys are shit, and the dotm line was just okay. rotf... rotf was a goldmine, man. complex as hell, but not to the point you're sitting there for days. think masterpiece with a different aesthetic to it. even if you didn't like the movies, or the characters, or the designs or what ever, there's no doubt these toys are damn well engineered. 2009-2010 was just the perfect sweetspot for transformers.

Lol I actually hated the movies liked the design tho. Mainly didn't like them due to Michael bay but designs were good.

It depends on how you want to collect them. What you want in your collection.

Personally, I refuse to have any movie line figure that was not in the movie. To me they are fillers and I don't want them

Then when it comes to the on screen characters I am working on getting the best version of each that best represents each character.

    So far I'm at like

    TFTM:2007
    Deluxe - Bonecrusher
    Voyager - Blackout w/ Scorpinok
    Voyager - Megatron

    ROTF:2009
    Scout - Ejector
    Scout - Scalpel
    Deluxe - Autobots Wheelie
    Deluxe - Cannon Bumblebee
    Deluxe - Ice Cram Twins
    Deluxe - Mudflap (Tuner)
    Deluxe - Rampage
    Deluxe - Ravage
    Deluxe - Skids
    Deluxe - Soundwave
    Deluxe - Stalker Scorponok
    Voyager - Mixmaster
Voyager - Optimus Prime - (gonna replace with Leader)
    Voyager - The Fallen
Leader - Jetfire - Power up mode
    Supreme - Devastator

    HFTD:2010
    Human Alliance - Jazz
Leader - Optimus Prime (Battle Hooks) - Power up mode

    DOTM:2011
    Commander - Hatchet
    Cyberverse - Autobot Ark
    Deluxe - Barricade
    Deluxe - Crankcase
Deluxe - Jolt - (Want to replace with ROTF - Electrostatic Jolt)
    Deluxe - Laserbeak
    Deluxe - Nitro Bumblebee
    Deluxe - Sideswipe
Deluxe - Specialist Ratchet - (Gonna replace with 2007 Voyager Ratcher)
    Deluxe - Starscream
    Deluxe - Thundercracker
    Deluxe - Topspin
Human Alliance - Leadfoot w/ Steeljaw
    Human Alliance - Roadbuster
    Voyager - Megatron
    Voyager - Shockwave
    Leader - Ironhide
    Leader - Sentinel Prime
    Ultimate - Ultimate Optimus Prime
Deluxe - Optimus Prime With Trailer

    And to complete it
    2007 - Deluxe - Arcee (Pink)
    2007 - Deluxe - Arcee (Black)
2007 - Deluxe - Brawl - Leader version is preferred over this but, wallet says no.
    2007 - Voyager - Ratchet

One more motorcycle but I haven't decided which one.

ROTF - Deluxe - Electrostatic Jolt
ROTF - Voyager - Long Haul
    ROTF - Voyager - Demolisher
ROTF - Voyager - Megatron (maybe leader if I can get it for cheap enough).
ROTF - Leader - Optimus Prime (For standalone)
ROTF - Leader - Jetfire (for standalone)

    DOTM - Deluxe/HA - Soundwave
    DOTM - Deluxe - Que

This will complete my collection and I believe they are all the best versions of each and they all look bad ass in a set up on a shelf. Personally, I wouldn't have any other versions.

I'm incredibly baffled by the fact that you've got deluxe Brawl instead of Leader Brawl on that last. Mind sharing why? IMO Leader Brawl is probably the single best figure from the original movie line.

I actually forgot about it when I wrote this, however I would love to have the leader over the deluxe or if there is a voyager (that i'm unaware of). However my bank account says that the leader is out of my range unless I get it at a yard sale. It is the only reason why it's not on the list.

    I have updated the list.

Supreme = Devastator / No Robot / Vehicles
Deluxe / Voyagers = No Devastator / Robot / Vehicles
    Legends = Devastator / Robot / Vehicles - If I remember correctly

The lack of movie 1 Arcee, Stockade, and Landmine appreciation concerns me...

Haha, that's possibly the biggest bees nest from the RotF.

MOST, not all, of the Constructicons are available individually as figures that turn into the appropriate vehicles.

There is also a SET that turns into vehicles and a terrible, terrible Devastator. There is no set that does both.

I thought of that after I posted. But was it ever released in the West? I fell out of the fandom a bit between RotF and DotM.

Either way, I always found the prospect of a sub-deluxe size Devastator completely depressing.

Not really, it's more about liking the designs. I think the movies are pretty crappy but I started liking some of the designs around the ROTF era, and ended up getting a lot of movie figures.

Still, I'm happier with the Prime aesthetic. I don't know how to feel about a fourth movie approaching, and I kinda don't want it to kill the Prime toyline.
