The dude can do whatever he wants to improve his TFs... aesthetic superiority doesn't just rest on how "movie accurate" it is. Obsessive movie-accuracy seems a little too anally retentive to me. I guess I'm destined to be the one sole voice of positivity here. Not sure why you chose the yellow for the head, but I kind of like it. I think the yellow association with Prime's head goes back to G1 Prime, and his big yellow eyes. The colour may be a bit bright, but I like the way it focuses the attention on the front of the silver faceplate (the "mouthguard" especially). I agree with ActionMasterZod though... I think the side vents are enough. The bit on the forehead is a bit too much. It also makes Prime look a little more cartoony, a little more heroic, a little more "Brave Series"... but in a way that might be part of what was missing from the movie designs. A bit of overt pageantry is nice sometimes on giant robots. I may not do the yellow on mine, but I think I'm going to try painting those vents in another colour to get a similar effect on mine. I'm in the same boat. I can not stand yellow on Prime's head in anyway (that goes for his eyes too, I like them blue).
That's interesting... I was always pretty much indifferent to Transformer eye colour. I watched most of G1 on a black & white TV back in the day, so I never really got into the whole "autobots=blue eyes, decepticons=red eyes" or whatever. My G1 Prime had yellow eyes, so that's what colour Prime's eyes were for me. But it was always a pretty minor detail. I happen to have painted my Classics Optimus' eyes gold, and they look much better than that dark light piping. On the other hand, I removed the yellow on his crest and repainted it silver... which also looked much better. Anything goes I guess. zmog

I never said it sucks, I never will say anything sucks, because I'm not at liberty to say so. Seriously, what's your deal? I also feel people are a little hard on him, I don't like, but I never said stuff like: Why should he? Because you told him to? It's his figure, he can do what he wants. It's okay to give feedback, but don't be flat out rude. ZedzDead, I do like the silver brow though.
Sorry... I'm just sensitive when it seems like people are acting like callous self-important jerks just because it's the internet. This thread was so full of negativity, by the time I finished reading it, I was pretty annoyed. I didn't mean to really single you out to bear the collective blame though... sorry. zmog

i can appreciate the concept, being one who likes to totally play around with paints, but seriously, yellow is not a prime color... even though it is a prime color... oh bloody hell, you know what i mean, LOL if you like it, stick with it, it's not what we think, its YOUR figure. but i am going to have to side with everyone else here in majority, it just doesn't look right.
I've not really been a fan of the yellow on the recent Primes. It's just not...Prime. However, if it works for you and that's how you like Prime, then great job.
The forehead kinda stands out... But I like it. Maybe it you repainted the copper spot on his chest to match it.
