When I got my copy of Dropkick a few weeks ago, I was blown away at all the insect touches they added. He REALLY looked Insecticon-ish. I knew I'd be hacking him up eventually. A lucky find on this board for some g1 Kickback parts got me most of the way there.

    I proudly present TFTM Kickback.

Kickback is one of the most simple customs I've done. He's MOSTLY Dropkick. I added the G1 head and hacked the chest apart a little bit so the head could still retract and the top could drop into place. All of the grey parts visible in bot mode were painted black to match the G1.

I painted the windows with my trusty soft brush and did about 30 layers of transparent yellow to get it this dark. I tried to avoid drybrushing the body since I've gotten kinda bored of that look. I did the shocks in his chest and the gears in his abs and left the rest alone.

The truck mode is pretty unaltered. I liked Dropkick so much I didn't want to change him much. I decided to just detail the grill and do the windows. That's enough. If you look closely at the top of the windshield, you can see the antennae poking out under the roof.

    Anyone call for an exterminator?

WOW that worked out REALLY well ! ! !
Kinda reminds me of my Tracks/Soundwave Alternator, simple but very effective/convincing.

Yeah, I've pretty much adopted Dropkick (still my absolute favorite deluxe in the line, and probably one of my favorites evar) as the official insecticon of the movie.

Everything about him screams insect. The legs, the antenna, the face (very locust-ish), just....love it.

Great bash you did, looks good.

Nice, but the G1 head looks kind of goofy on him, especially the antennas.

if it had been my custom, I would've just kept the head, and painted those antenae besides it yellow. Other than that difference of oppinion, I have to say you did a swell job and it looks good. You should take a picture where you can see the two vertical kibble pieces on the back that look a lot like the insect wings of the original while in 'bot mode!

DAAAAMMMMNNNN!!! That is HOT. He should've been presented like that originally even if they had to keep the Dropkick name. Very cool.

Very awesome. I love the look of this, and its amazing how many times the way-too-big G1 heads work out perfectly for molds much larger than the original. Well done, sir.
