A little G1 love goes a long way.

If anything, these might serve as inspiration for some much needed future kitbashing.

    EDIT:
Simple head modification incorperating some of the movie design
    [IMG]

    And a red version 2

Honestly, I love the red color, but I don't care for the head. I'm not a fan of the movie heads, either, but I don't think it says Ironhide.

i like the red versions a lot. and the head is a nice touch. the movie heads are awful. i think the movie had so much potential but these alien looking bots in my opinion are terrible, and the bot modes have just too many parts.

The head definatly is too weird, the original that is. This one is ok, but maybe a mesh of both. The red is ok, but i was thinking a black metalic red. Like kind of two tone. I don't know what it's called.

I'd like it if you digisbashed it with a pre-existing head so we can figure out how best to bash this guy when he comes out.

I'm planning to redub Ironhide as "Clench" and toss him on a Decepticon shelf with no changes. But if Hasbro were ever to release a red repaint, I'd consider giving it a headswap so it could be the real Ironhide. Nice digis :)

Seriously the red looks so much better. Why did they made his colour black instead of red?

I find your TF heads always look a bit harsh and stern, but I'm also always impressed by them. The mask-like, faceted plating on the face makes them look appropriate for live-action. Good stuff!

I find that with the head change, both black and red say Ironhide to me... which says a lot for the power of changing the head. I prefer the head version that has some of the elements carrying over from the original head... the additional surface details echo the forms on the body better, and make it look like a more natural part of the rest of the figure.

OK... so now make him Trailbreaker! ;)

Not a bad idea at all. The black truck alt mode suits G1 Trailbreaker much more than Ironhide (although it is nice for IH too).

Lots of kitbashing ideas come to mind for these movie toys.

The head you came up with goes very nicely with the rest of the body. Nice work.
