I'm not a fan of getting repaints (Not counting the seekers)... So I'm trying to pick between Grindor or Blackout.... Which one would you guys prefer out of the two?
Just curious and this will help me make my decision.

Unfortunately, IIRC none of the redecos of that mold fixed the issues with the automorph gears - whichever one you get, be careful with it.

He is a buy for another time.... I rather have one of the two Decepticons, I have too much Autobots and I need more Decepticons in my collection... =P

Thats not a big deal to me... I just always thought the mold was a incredible design!

Well,go with Grindor. maybe if you have some extra cash,go look for a scout class decepticon. maybe like skystalker. he makes a good army builder.

I owned Grindor and thought he was an ok figure. The backpack was the thing that killed it and also when transforming to copter mode, the darn thing wouldn'd tab properly. Colors are great though!

Blackout all the way! The voyager mold is OK if you can live with that huge backpack. I love the cyberverse commander Blackout personally. I still haven't given up hope that they'll release a new blackout mold for either a voyager or (fingers crossed) leader class. I'd definitely pick up the cyberverse Blackout, but It'd probably be worth it to wait and see if something better is released. But if you really want to get the current Voyager Blackout mold, get the "Premium Series" Blackout! :)

what does that even mean. colors can't be sex and it sounds dumb to use it in that manner (which is becoming more prevalent lately on the boards)

IMO I like blackout. Held out for a premium for awhile but bit on the regular voyager blackout when one presented itself for an incredible deal.

also blackout>grindor as blackout is the very first TF we see in the Bay films... that opening scene will always kind of stick with me

Fine. The colors are pretty fantastic on Grindor. The blue on Blackout isn't quite as appealing as the grey used on Grindor, I think. Add reprolabels onto Grindor and he's a great USMC helicopter.

I say Grindor... if you want a decent Blackout, get the Cyberverse Commander (which is a better figure).

Blackout. The Grindor I had showed signs of mould degradation, for example in helicopter mode the legs wouldn't stay pegged in, nor would Scorponok's cage stay closed.

I personally like Grindor, if only because I consider Grindor and Blackout one and the same (it fills the plot hole of the sub guy in ROTF saying there was six guys coming up by resurecting Blackout at the same time as Megatron, plus the toy IS Blackout anyway) and Grindor was the last version of the character before Movie Prime really got into taking faces.

The cyberverse Blackout figure kicks ass, though. Amazing transformation AND I love the targetmaster gimmick.

Blackout for me, based on the character alone. Blackout in TF1 was a memorable Decepticon. Grindor was just a minor grunt and fodder for Prime.

I kinda wish they made a new Blackout figure (no, not a Leader). They did so many things right with the cyberverse figure, a bigger toy that took some hints from that one would be wonderful.

Blackout (Premium if possible), though right now I am almost thinking of picking up a Grindor to go along with it since I guess they were different movie characters and I like all the onscreen characters on my shelf. Not really a priority, but been thinking about jumping on the bandwagon a few years late now.
