At Toy Fair 2014,Hasbro confirmed in 2014 that 20 Movie Generations were going to be made (12 Deluxe,6 Voyagers and 2 Leaders) they revealed 13 figures (7 Deluxe,4 Voyagers and 2 Leaders). Now with the eventual releases of Deluxe Lockdown,2014 Bumblebee and Snarl plus Voyager(?) Slog we're down to 2 Deluxes and 1 Voyager. So who's left of the Movie Generations? I'm honestly thinking a Deluxe Stinger (remold of 2014 Bumblebee) and the Sonic RS is to be released. For Voyager I'm thinking the rumored Voyager Drift (Although I really want a Voyager Optimus in his new mode)
I'm pretty sure Stinger and voyager Drift are confirmed (not officially, but in a listing). The last Deluxe I agree is probably the Sonic, since it rammed some humans in the trailer it's probably an Autobot.
You're forgetting Lockdown, guys. He has a toy, guaranteed. They're even listing it in the wave 2 assortment. Considering Stinger also appears to have a toy based on what we've seen so far, I can't imagine that he wouldn't be the other deluxe. It does beg the question of where the Sonic falls in, and what the final voyager is - if it's Drift, or Junkheap, or something else entirely.
OP mentioned Lockdown. It's speculated that it's because Drift was a helicopter when he was a Decepticon, or Spoiler he's a turncoat and changes into a helicopter soon after the reveal. His robot mode Bugatti design has blades on its back that could easily be replaced by helicopter blades for a design retool into a helicopter. Regardless, I would love a (non-kiddie-gimmick) Junkheap toy.
Let's take a look. Confirmed Toys: Deluxe: Old car Bumblebee Crosshairs Slug Scorn Drift Strafe Slash Snarl New car Bumblebee Voyagers: Old Truck Optimus Grimlock Hound Galvatron Slog Leader: Optimus Grimlock toys that are rumored: Deluxe: Stinger Lockdown Rally car Voyager: Drift So there are technically 4 more figures to announce. I hope they have more plans after these 20 figures. I want to see a Voyager New Truck Optimus.
Yeah, given that these were the leaked Deluxe and Voyager listings ... ... the remaining figures are the four that I've bolded. But bear in mind we've already seen a third Leader figure when we were promised just two, so it's not impossible there might be more figures beyond this...
I think you guy are still missing a deluxe figure. There is one that is just called "PDQ" I assumed that it was initials that stood for the Vehicon character. Deluxes A6509 BUMBLEBEE, CLASSIC/HIGH OCTANE (SAME ID #) A6510 CROSSHAIRS/SLINGSHOT A6511 DINOBOT SLUG A6512 "SOUTHPAW"-Scorn A7812 LOCKDOWN A7813 DRIFT A7814 STRAFE A7815 DINOBOT SLASH A7979 PDQ A8113 SNARL A8114 RALLY CAR A8115 DECEPTICON STINGER Voyager A6514 OPTIMUS PRIME "EVASION MODE" A6515 GRIMLOCK A7946 HOUND A7947 GALVATRON A8117 SLOG A8118 DRIFT A9181 OPTIMUS PRIME AND GRIMLOCK Leader A6518 GRIMLOCK A6517 OPTIMUS PRIME
PDQ is an abbreviation of 'Product Displayed Quickly', and refers to folding cardboard display units for retail stores. Thus if a retailer orders 'TRA MV4 GENERATIONS DELUXE PDQ A7979', they get their Deluxes in a fancy unfolding display box, rather than in a plain brown shipping case.
They said in the interview last week that it might be in the works. I'm happy with my Leader OP; that set is awesome. Yup, a repaint of DOTM Bee that looks like nothing in the movie. I think that those listings, while definitely great, can have sets "added" to them. I just hope that Junkheap, the Vehicons, and Wolf end up getting sets. Then I am a happy collector.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the number increase past twenty. That's significantly fewer deluxes than any of the previous three movies. I understand they're emphasizing the younger-age stuff more this time around, but these things are still the core of the line. I can't believe that they wouldn't plan on running this popular movie-line to Christmas, and with the first two waves mostly available already (7 up on HTS right now), that'd only leave about two more waves to fill in the rest of the year on a hot line. I'm betting the twenty are just the ones they had significantly developed, or perhaps they're just the ones that won't be crappy repaints.
From the rate we might go, AOE toy line might end at the end of the Summer. What is that suppose to mean?
Maybe Hasbro might merge both the AOE line and Generations line together,Rather than two separate "Collector" lines going at once.
But 2 more waves of deluxes mean the last of those waves would probably be released in September/October.... thus reaching saturation right in time for Christmas shopping. I wouldn't be surprised with one more wave with some repaints, but also look back at DOTM. The waves intended for release right at the end of the year/going into the next year didn't come out. I suspect Hasbro decided not to make quite as large of a "Generations" line, partly for that reason, and partly for also producing lots of the younger-age/simpler toys.
