Interesting, however, I'll wait until the Transformers EXTENDED EDITION comes out. If it can be done for Lord of The Rings, then it can be done for Transformers.

This is awesome news!! Although I'll be content with the Special Edition version of the DVD, I may get the HD version too.

    Bring on October 16th!!!

It's ok, let's just hope when they get their HD-DVD their Elites aren't at the shop getting repaired. :D  I'm happy enough with my upscaled version of the DVD knowing that it wasn't a product of a payoff, and that my PS3 will definitely be working when I get it. In the meantime though, I'm sneaking into fastballspecial's house to watch it.

On a more related and less flamey mode though.... if that is the cover, I think we can all agree that that sucker will look beautiful on the DVD walls of the Best Buys and Wal-Marts.

I'll go and get the 2-disc when it comes out, and when the extended version hits 6months later my younger bro gets a hand me down 2-disc!

But who am I gonna give the extended version to in 18 months when the Blu-ray comes out?

All I know is that I am going to be this movie's whore... I will pretty much be a sucker to every itteration with no shame. I will buy this 2DVD set in October and the "5 Extra seconds of Optimus getting his ass beat"-Edition next year.

Not everyone's 360 burns out, and secondly, since when has sony not paid people off for exclusives either? Lets leave the Bluray HD-DVD hate to their own topics. Let's just celebrate it's being released in both DVD and 1080p glory!

I second that. Oh god, all the versions of this film I'll own. From the normal to the director's cut, to the extended, to the extended director's cut on down the line.

They goofed, there's no way they would release it prior to the Imax run, but then again, it is Bay, and the IMax is an 'extended' by two minutes. So who knows.

They haven't which is why they lose so many exclusives. But one thing you're right about is the celebrate thing, especially with such a damn fine cover-art. Besides, like I said, I'm just going to go to one of you, Xbox owner's house, and watch it there.

Well, in keeping with the typical trend of how studios release DVD's these days, we'll probably get some sort of "uber special edition directors cut" version *after* everyone buys up the current 2-disc special edition. Probably around X-Mas or in the new year. That'll be the one with extended scenes, deleted footage, etc.

And of course, once a sequel is on the horizon, they'll re-release it for a third time pimping better sound, visuals, bonus animatics, etc. It'll all play out just like Spider-Man, X-Men and pretty much every blockbuster has done where we end up with 3-5 versions of the same movie, just in different packaging and with different bonus content.

    I was counting games too.

And a free ticket for TF2! Yay, more free TF movie passes...
As if I didn't already see the first one enough time with those. :ev:

that's actually where it's more evident. In games, that is...

You know what would be a very nice addition to the DVD... a promo for TF animated. The shit they showed at the convention recently.

Oh god, and without the background noise too. Hell scratch that, just give us a preview of the first episode to boot, since it's apparent review copies and preview copies are circulating.

But mmmm, that'd make this soooo much sweeter. Or even better, unseen animated footage in a trailer. MMm. Damn yous, you got me drooling again.

I dunno which version to buy first. I might just buy the single disk so I can watch the movie for 6 months straight until the uber special edition comes out with all the perks and extras - maybe even the transforming prime case?

Does this date also go for Europe? I guess not :(

Anyway, I hope the regular DVD DOES contain some extra footage or bonus material. It would be a feckin' shame if it didn't. Terrible.
