Hello, this is my first thread My english is not so good, so i'm sorry if anyone don't understand what i'm saying So i want to make my movie decepticons collection in scale with ROTF Voyager The Fallen in Robot Mode the only decepticons that are out of scale to The Fallen are Barricade, Sideways, Soundwave, Crankcase (all Deluxe). The Constructicons' not included, since it would make it worse I use a DOTM Voyager Megatron as comparison in robot mode Is a legend sized Barricade, Sideways, Soundwave (Cyberverse Legion), and Crankcase (Cyberverse Legion) is accurate in size to a DOTM Voyager Megatron in robot mode? (in DOTM soundwave is about the thigh of Megatron)? Oh and Starscream, compared to Megatron in robot mode, is it more accurate the DOTM Deluxe, or the ROTF voyager?
I tried to do something like that when I first started collecting these guys, but quickily gave up. The scale is so different on these guys even in the same line it got really frustrating. How is Bumblebee's Camaro mode bigger than Crankcase's Suburban mode? My four year old who plays with these doesn't really care, so we just have fun with them the way they are. We have most of the Cyberverse figures too and the only one in scale with the deluxe and voyagers is HFTD Ravage. Good luck!
In short: No. They're not even in scale to each other... hell, they're not in scale to themselves. There's basically robot-mode scale, and vehicle-mode scale, and they're NOT the same, sadly. For most of these, a Deluxe robot mode is about what you want, but a Scout alt-mode. Which... doesn't... exist or make sense.
I collect movie toys and really enjoy the line, but like the OP indicated, it is hard to focus because scale is not proportionate across classes. basically my goal is to get the best representation of each screen character. It means I have alot of deluxes that hang with HAs and leaders (bonebreaker, blackout, etc- these guys should be huge).
Actually, I think a Legends car is about right to a Voyager Fallen and Megatron. Remember when Megatron picked up Jazz in movie 1? Compromise is necessary, but you can get a pretty good scale set up in your movie 'cons collection. I actually decided to build it a little smaller this year, around DotM Voyager Megatron and DotM Deluxe Starscream. The plus side to this is that Long Haul and Blackout look ALMOST as big as they ought to. I don't have Legends cars in this display yet but I think they'd fit.
I was always annoyed we never got any more scout movie cars as they would be perfect scale for fallen, blackout, and so on
I'm waiting on DOTM Megs to show up at Ross on discount to go with my HFTD Starscream. A fuel tanker to go with the jet...perfect pair.
It's def tough with the movie line. Especially guys like blackout, brawl, bonecrusher who never really got a big enough Representation to be in scale with a leader prime, voyager ironhide/ratchet, and the deluxe cars. I ended up splitting the display. I display the auto it's together, crankcase hangs out with barricade against dotm ironhide/sideswipe, all the voyager decepticons hangout with dotm deluxe jets. It works but it sucks not being able to display them in the context of a battle
Alt-mode-wise, Legends cars are typically in close scale with Voyager Megatron (Crowbar is one of the few [only?] exceptions). Of course, so is Leader Starscream. Soundwave's close, as close as he's going to get at least. Voyager Starscream's still fairly large, but the Deluxe is too small.
hmmmmm based on the pict above Legion Soundwave is to small to be scale accurate. but i still going to buy it though, since it's soundwave XD Deluxe Starscream is to small, maybe i'm going to buy it after i complete the line, Alright then, it's final. I'm going to buy legion soundwave, to be displayed with the rest of the decepticons. Deluxe Barricade, Sideways, Soundwave, Legends Ravage, displayed as their own scale, Constructicons, too. And Crankcase's lonely Case Closed //
Eh? We had Megatron, Starscream, Shockwave, Soundwave, Barricade, Laserbeak, Crankcase, Hatchet, and Crowbar, at the very least. If you're talking about their names actually being mentioned by characters or in the script, well, they can't exactly do a Decepticon rollcall like they did with the Bots in TFTM or even in the cartoon. XD As for scale, Voyager Megatron is an odd duck since his alt mode is too small to go with Deluxe cars. Bot mode looks OK with Deluxe bots, but he's a bit too smallish and spindly compared to his CGI model (the cloak helps hide it a little). Even odder is that the Deluxe Optimus mold appears to scale well with Megatron in alt mode, but I'm not sure about bot mode? Looking at the Voyager bot modes for both of them in their packaging, they looked similar in size. Wondering if anyone with all three figures could confirm the sizes there.
deluxe optimus is in scale with megs in vehicle mode, but voyager prime works better for robot mode scale.
I still cant understand how in the movie starscream and prime's scale are at the same height for robot mode. But the actual real life mathematical/scientific calculations of their vehicle modes make starscream pretty much double the size of optimus/
