Ian Bryce has once again posted on Don Murphy's boards, giving details of the crew involved with the production of the Transformers movie, as well as some other progress reports:

Seems like a pretty good pedigree to me. :)

How hard would it be to design blue jeans, tan shirt, yellow boots, and a yellow hard hat? :lol :

Well, there are the military uniforms that have to be done right, and costumes isn't so much of an issue of design for this movie per say, but one of responsibility in that someone has to make sure that all of the players have a costume to wear when the camera rolls.

I love movie news, even if its little minor stuff. It makes me happy because I'm reminded that the movie is still progressing. And what a nice line up so far.

military uniforms? key word uniform, its easy just buy a bunch of the same thing at a surplus store and a dress clothing store, there is not much difference in uniforms. Unless the US navy will be in movie as a prowd owner of an overstuffed seabag I can vouch that the navy has TO many uniforms (airforce has basicly 3 with varients, USN has 6 or more depending on rank, location, assignment, and job). Besides, do random mooks on the strret really need costums when there only real purpose is either for the Autobots to rescue/talk to or the Decepticons to enslave/step on?

Hey now, don't forget that two sizes are needed: one medium and one extra large...

Movie costume design tends to be quite complex. As Nevermore said, all clothing you see in a movie, including what the nameless extras wear and military uniforms, are all designed by the costume design team. While sometimes a costume may be "off the rack", or bought in a store, costume designers tend to prefer building their own wardrobes, as characters, at least the major and minor ones, need several versions of a single costume, plus the costume designers know what kind of fabrics look best under certain lighting conditions, and if there's any stuntwork involved, then they have to build in flying harnesses or extra padding or flame ******ant material or pockets for squib loads and whatnot.

When the "fake" footage came out, it was stated to be part of Lights and Magic "audition" footage to get the role of designing in the movie. Don Murphy has come out saying it's fake. But seeing LMI on the project regardless has me quite happy.
