I've been wanting to do this for awhile now and just got the paint in. Just started putting the test coat on my scrap BB.

That's it compared to the Premium paint job.
    Update:
Did a little more tests today
Front end has been base coated in Testors Lightning White, while the top coat is Sunrise Pearl. Roof is regular release Bumblebee, and the half rear is with no base coat. Waiting on another 'Bee to come in this week to get the main one done.

Bet that paint was expensive, HOK cost a bomb.

Looking forward to seeing this finished.

    Ordered them from here.
    TCPglobal @ Amazon.com:

Not really that expensive for 4 oz, was like $15 shipped to me. But it is a beautiful, beautiful paint color. Wish I could have seen the real deal in person.

One on the left is the Premium, one on the right is repainted.

Can this be airbrushed with a regular airbrush? Or does it needs to be thinned down (with what?)

The stuff I got came thinned already. And I'm by no means a professional so i'm doing the spray painting with a lil' $20 kit from Hobby Lobby. But with that it seems to be doing a good job. Very thin layers, almost instantly dries.

I tried to obtain some HoK Sunrise Pearl today with a 'local' dealer. He could only sell me a full liter (34 Oz) at €98,80 ($173.-) + another €19,- for a liter of thinner and €8,- shipped.

So I guess I'll be ordering some from amazon too :)

Looks great heatguy! Contemplating the idea of getting some of this for the new '10 ccbb mold coming out.

Hmm, it might just be my monitor (doubt it though) but it looks more like a peach color than a candy yellow.

...think that's actually the light/white value setting of his camera more than anything, but I could be wrong.

Small update, got another Premium BB in so I figure'd I'd get back to work. Was taking of the front wheels and noticed this. Kudos to Hasbro, awesome detail for something that would usually never be seen.

You gonna try to remove enough material from the wheels so we can see this brake?
