So, many months ago when this toy first came out, I repainted it as seen in the last picture below. I repainted all the black into a dark metallic grey, added a number of blue gunmetal details (they're hard to see in the movie, but sure enough, BB's got alot of blue on him!), added in the missing yellow paint, and detailed up his face. A bit of silver drybrushing was also done.

Later on tho, I wasn't totally happy with it. I'd grown tired of the drybrushing, and they head just wasn't quite the Bumblebee I'd seen in the movie. So I sold it, and bought another brand new with the intent of giving BB a new head and cleaner paint job. I thought of swapping the head with either the Robot Replica or the Screen Battles legless version's...but niether looked right to me.

So I cut up the toy's original head and totally rebuilt the whole face structure with very thing styrene, in a properly layered format.. The top of the head has been sanded down, the cheek vents are higher and wider, the jaw is narrower and less rounded, the cheekbones are bigger, they eyes are wider, the mouthplate is smaller and more accurately, and finally his mouth "speaker" is actually a seperate, round peice. All the white parts in the first pic are new!

They black was once again repainted a dark metallic grey, all the yellow and copper details were added, and this time a brighter metallic blue was used. Yeah, it's less accurate, but I thought it looked nicer:)  Oh, and some details were lined in. And sorry, no vechicle mode pics, cos well, its pretty much identical to the out of package car.

That is freaking A-MAZ-ING! What you've done with the head is just superb. The best BB head I've seen to date. I like the face re-molding a lot but the little ear type things you added really pulled me in at first. Seems like such an easy part for Hasbro to have included in their version. Any plans on casting it for people to buy or maybe doing an improved Jazz face too?

This is one skill I'd like to improve on, fabrication from styrene. I just don't do it enough, and I know "practice makes perfect".

That's some great work, especially on a head that small. Sweet paint job too. Please, do Jazz! I can't stand Jazz's "X" face.

WOW!! jarrod that is amazing man, any chance that you would commission one of these for someone that does not possess the skills to make one? No paint needed, just the scratch built head and I would paint it myself.

Heh...I have no skills at recasting, tried it once, never again! As for Jazz...maybe. Problem is, there's just so much else wrong with that toy, that to me a new head still wouldn't help, whereas BB was so near perfect already.

Unfortunately, I already have some full-time commision jobs, plus my own stuff so I really don't have the time.

Great work! The head resculpt is fantastic, im amazed at how smooth and flawless the styrene looks. Though im surprised that since you was going for movie accuracy you forgot to put an autobot logo on his forehead.

Personally, I think this looks better than the remold, though I can't deny that it's probably due to the fact that it actually looks like it's made from separate pieces...

Hoooooly shit! That's amazingly detailed for styrene, looks accurate to the movie too, albeit sans "I can see through your soul"-eyes.
