The animation is very smooth, I wouldn't be surprised if they guy who did this also did the Evolution of a dance with Prime.

I too am blown away by the sheer quality of the animation... I'm really uncertain whether it's really really sharp stop-motion, really really sharp CGI, or some combination of the two.

I think this video has a lot more work in it than is immediately evident (more than meets the eye, natch)... even the setting is disarmingly mudane... someone's computer desk. But I think that's a trick, because the overall level of the camerawork, sharp image and the remarkably consistent lighting mark this as a professional grade effort.
