Spider-Man 3 had 1,432,370 viewers for its first weekend. Shrek the Third had 1,004,885 viewers for its first weekend. Live Free or Die Hard had 800,651 viewers for its first weekend. 300 had 745,709 viewers for its first weekend. Mr. Bean's Holiday had 714,973 viewers for its first weekend. Die Wilden Kerle 4 (German movie) had 651,925 viewers for its first weekend. Night at the Museum had 651,669 viewers for the second weekend (starting weekend was in December 2006, with 791,723 viewers).. Ranking behind Transformers in terms of viewers for the first weekend comes Ocean's Thirteen, with 423,287 viewers for its first weekend. Also, Die Hard had an Ages 16+ rating in Germany, whereas Transformers is Ages 12+.
Yaarrr! We rock hard! The question now is, how is this so? I'm really curious as to why is it that Transformers in most of Asia are doing so well compared to other summer Blockbusters. Do Azns love giant robots? Or is it just a terrible coincidence?
